Steve Irwin, otherwise known as the Crocodile Hunter, was killed today when a stringray barb caught him in the chest. Shocking news for the holiday weekend. We were thinking it would be a secret wedding, but instead we came home to hear this sad news. The 44 year old was filming a documentary when the incident occurred. More than a year after starting a huge battle with Brooke over antidepressants, and a week after his colleague said he deeply regrets what he said, Tom has finally apologized. Brooke confirmed the news on The Tonight Show on Friday. Looks like Tom is working overtime to clean up his image after being dumped by Paramount. Kind of makes me wonder if poor Katie is doing OK. Maybe now he has seen what Brooke was referring to when she suffered from postpartum depression. Either way, it's a step in the right direction for Tom. Here's more:
Cruise "came over to my house and he gave me a heartfelt apology," Shields, 41, told Leno. "And he apologized for bringing me into the whole thing and for everything that happened.
"And through it all, I was so impressed with how heartfelt it was. And I didn't feel at any time that I had to defend myself, nor did I feel that he was trying to convince me of anything other than the fact that he was deeply sorry. And I accepted it."
Cruise's rep, Arnold Robinson, told the Associated Press in a statement, "It is true that his friendship with Ms. Shields has been mended. He has not changed his position about antidepressants, which, as evidenced by the black label warnings issued by the FDA on these types of drugs, are unhealthy."

Rachel debuts her first film, The Last Kiss, later this month. We are so looking forward to this romantic comedy with Zach Braff.
