Britney was all smiles when she turned herself in to the police last night, and naturally she had no problem sharing a few words with a reporter afterwards - watch the video here. She described the experience as amazing and then asked where the party was at. We'd like to think she was joking, but of course you can never really tell with Brit.

As always, we want to believe that Britney is taking some steps in the right direction despite her seemingly questionable public behavior. That being said, supposedly Britney is a lot more grounded than she is leading us to believe. According to music producer Dallas Austin, "She is very sane when she talks, believe it or not. She is normal and knows what is going on." He also said that Britney knew she wasn't ready for her VMA performance the night beforehand and that she just wanted to go home and be with her kids.

While it is encouraging to hear that Britney may be more responsible and with it than she seems, we're still hoping that soon we'll get to see more evidence.

Penelope and Monica are in town to present a handbag collection by Samantha Thavasa, whom the sisters have designed for in the past too. I'm sure the lengthy flight provided some valuable time for the sisters to gossip about Penelope's hot new man, Javier.

Madonna continued her non-tracksuit trend yesterday in LA where she was spotted between meetings with pal and co-manager Guy Oseary. Today Madonna made the big announcement that she is officially leaving Warner Brothers for Live Nation, in a deal that will make her over $100 million. She said:

"The paradigm in the music business has shifted and as an artist and a business woman, I have to move with that shift. For the first time in my career, the way that my music can reach my fans is unlimited. I've never wanted to think in a limited way and with this new partnership, the possibilities are endless. Who knows how my albums will be distributed in the future? That's what's exciting about this deal -- everything is possible. Live Nation has offered me a true partnership and after 25 years in the business, I feel that I deserve that."

Jaime Pressly's line of knitwear, J'aime, is two years old but last night she debuted her newly expanded contemporary collection at LA Fashion Week. The runway show and party, which benefited St. Jude, was clearly a proud moment for the actress who was beaming all night long. Her My Name Is Earl costar Jason Lee was out to support his friend as was Nicky Hilton (who also had a show at LAFW over the weekend) and her boyfriend David Katzenberg. Calista Flockhart sure seems like one of Hollywood's more fun moms which is a good thing considering her ABC show is so intensely dramatic these days. A few weeks ago she treated her son Liam to a ride on Space Mountain at Disneyland, and yesterday she took him to the pumpkin patch to find the perfect future jack-o-lantern. Guess Harrison decided to sit this one out, but it seems like Calista and Liam have everything under control, right down to his festive orange and black outfit. Too cute.

Mary-Louise Parker was one hot momma in her strapless black number at last night's 3rd Annual Worldwide Orphans Benefit Gala in NYC. She didn't have her boy or new little daughter with her for the adult event, but I'm sure they were on her mind for her night out on the town. While I love me some MLP and loathe to criticize Weeds, this season of the show has been a hard one to watch. On one hand, hearts for Mary-Kate, on the other Nancy Botwin is starting to get a little unbearable. Is it just me? I'm hoping the end of the season really turns it around, because it's been a favorite for years now. Just gotta remind myself that the gorgeous MLP is not the character she plays on TV.

Will Ferrell was rather sporty in his tracksuit as he headed out of LAX yesterday. Sports have been a running theme of Will's movies like Blades of Glory, but next year he'll start on a brand new project that will take him in a different direction. His new movie, Land of the Lost is about time travel and dinosaurs. The TV remake is set to start filming in March. Considering Will has fans of all ages he can bring a whole new audience to the popular 70's hit.
