Editors' Picks: Entertainment Must Haves For March

This year, March brings a Comedy Central Roast for the ages, the next chapter in one of the largest YA franchises, and the end of a series that's been going strong for six seasons. There are new comedies coming to the big and small screen, and though award season is over, we're still excited to see the movie and music stars turn up for South by Southwest. Take a look through the entertainment events that our editors are the most excited about this month, and let us know what you're looking forward to. Source: Lionsgate

New Midseason Shows

New shows continue to roll in during March, including comedies like Battle Creek, starring Josh Duhamel, and Will Forte's The Last Man on Earth. Oscar winner Patricia Arquette is leading CSI: Cyber, while Netflix is debuting Ellie Kemper's comedy The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt and the Kyle Chandler drama Bloodline. There are so many new shows that you should basically plan on revamping your whole primetime schedule.

Once Upon a Time's Return

When Once Upon a Time finally returns on March 1 after its midseason hiatus, we'll have a new trio of classic villains to contend with: Maleficent, Ursula, and Cruella de Vil. While it'll be interesting to see how our heroes deal with them, what we really want to see is the next chapter in Emma and Hook's burgeoning relationship.

Cinderella
Disney

Cinderella

For a lot of little girls, Cinderella is the most enchanting fairy tale of them all. On March 9, Disney is revitalizing the classic story in a live-action format, and it looks stunning. Just because you know what happens doesn't mean you shouldn't watch Lily James and Richard Madden fall for each other, only to be kept apart by Cinderella's cruel stepmother (Cate Blanchett). Even those skeptical of remakes have to admit they're curious about this one.

The Late Late Show With James Corden

Come March 10, we'll have a new host presiding over late night. British star James Corden takes over Craig Ferguson's desk with his distinct brand of humor, and if you still don't really know who Corden is (didn't you see Into the Woods?), here's a handy guide.

South by Southwest

One of Austin, TX's buzziest festivals is taking place over March 13 to 22, and not only is it the hottest place to catch veteran and emerging musical acts, it's also where a handful of hot movies come out this year. Judd Apatow and Amy Schumer's Trainwreck is headlining the festival, along with Melissa McCarthy in Spy and Will Ferrell in Get Hard.

Insurgent

The second chapter in the Divergent series is due out this month, this time with Tris (Shailene Woodley) picking up the pieces of an already-fragile society. We can't wait to see her face off with Kate Winslet again and to meet the new cast members when the sequel comes out March 20.

Glee Series Finale

After six seasons, Glee is coming to an end on March 20. Based on the pictures from the set, we can probably expect the final episode to be an emotional one. The gang is moving on, and there's no musical cover that can make this happier than a deeply bittersweet occasion at best.

Get Hard

Get Hard

Will Ferrell and Kevin Hart are two comedy powerhouses, and you can only imagine how funny they'll be together. Ferrell plays a white-collar criminal who enlists Hart's character to teach him how to toughen up when he's sentenced to time in prison. If this picture alone is making you crack up, you should definitely plan on seeing it when it's released on March 27.

The Comedy Central Roast of Justin Bieber

There is so much Justin Bieber has done that would be perfect fodder for a roast. The only question I still have is, how are the roasters going to narrow it down? Bieber has been pretty game so far, participating in a couple of promos, but it's about to get so real. Whether you're on Team Bieber or not, you'll want to settle in with some popcorn and friends on March 30.
