A Lot Has Changed Since Theon and Tyrion's Last Encounter on Game of Thrones

In this week's episode of Game of Thrones, Theon Greyjoy and his sister, Yara, finally meet Daenerys and crew. Except . . . weren't the Greyjoys on the Iron Islands just a couple of weeks ago? Time and geography can get so confusing on Game of Thrones. In any event, the Ironborn siblings plead their case for an alliance before Dany and Tyrion — who can't resist reminding Theon of the demeaning small person jokes he made the last time they had met.

But when last did Tyrion and Theon meet? Turns out, it was all the way back in season one, when Tyrion was still the hated Lannister black sheep (OK, he's still that, but he's, like, the Hand to an empress now), and Theon had all his parts attached. When Tyrion visited Winterfell on his way back from The Wall, he made the mistake of asking Theon about the neighborhood brothel. Theon, of course, took it as an excuse to mock the diminutive Lannister, and the two men then exchanged a quick-fire round of biting insults. They haven't seen each other since. Until now, that is!

Are we naive in hoping that the blossoming relationship between Yara and Daenerys goes smoother? Only time will tell, but for now, this looks like the beginning of a beautiful friendship . . .
