Akeem Has a Family Reunion in the Hilarious Trailer For Coming 2 America

The royal family of Zamunda are back, and they're just as hilarious as ever! The latest trailer for Coming 2 America dropped on Feb. 3, and it's good to see Akeem (Eddie Murphy) and his trusted confidante Semmi (Arsenio Hall) again. The sequel picks up years after the iconic 1988 film and sees the newly crowned King Akeem heading back to Queens after he learns that he fathered a son with another woman (Leslie Jones). Although Akeem has a daughter, Meeka (Kiki Layne), his father's dying wish is for him to seek out his long-lost son, Lavelle (Jermaine Fowler), and groom him to take the throne as his heir.

The sequel boasts a star-studded cast, much like the first film. Along with the actors reprising their original roles like Hall, Shari Headley, James Earl Jones, John Amos, Paul Bates, and Garcelle Beauvais, Coming 2 America includes Wesley Snipes, Tracy Morgan, and Nomzamo Mbatha.
