Cue the Tears — the Veep Cast's Emotional Goodbye Will Have Your "Allergies" Acting Up

The cast of HBO's Veep has officially wrapped production on their seventh and final season, and they're feeling the sadness. The beloved political comedy won't actually end until Spring 2019, but for its stars — including Emmy-winning Julia Louis-Dreyfus, who portrays national treasure Selina Meyer, politician extraordinaire — the end is here and it's emotionally taxing.

On Tuesday, Dreyfus and her costars shared their production-wrap heartbreak on social media, with Dreyfus posting several photos on her Instagram page. Dreyfus revealed how broken up she was after filming the first scene with a selfie that showed her tear-wrecked makeup. "Just rehearsed the first scene of our final day @veephbo — Guys, this is gonna be a cinch," she captioned the photo. Costar Tony Hale also posted a photo of himself during the final day of production, referencing his sweater with a heart in the caption. "Final rehearsal on the final day shooting @VeepHBO I can't describe how blessed and thankful I feel for everyone here," he wrote. "The sweater says it best." Seriously, we're already feeling the tears.

Veep has been off the air since the finale of season six in June 2017. Production of season seven was delayed while Dreyfus went through chemotherapy after revealing she had breast cancer in September 2017. The series will return with a final season comprised of seven episodes. Check out the images from the cast and crew ahead and try not to cry.
