I may be the mother to an 8-month-old little girl now, but I'll always be a dog mom first. I rescued my dog, Pancho, while on a trip to Colombia five years ago (rescue pups are the best), and I honestly consider him to be my first child. So while I totally want to be celebrated on Mother's Day for bringing my daughter into the world, I also want my very maternal relationship with Pancho to be acknowledged (after all, I've been cleaning up his poop for longer than my baby's).

And it turns out that a lot of pup parents agree with me. My company, Ollie, surveyed our customers, and 90 percent said they think dog moms deserve a gift for Mother's Day, too. Since we're all pretty much in agreement — especially about the importance of pups in our lives — I rounded up a few of my favorite things to give (and wouldn't mind receiving either).

Yes, there are many official dog carriers out there, but I'd prefer to tote Pancho around in this Hunter's tote ($45). If you're looking for a more traditional option, I love this WagWear Carrier, which is also conveniently airline-approved.

If I have to wake up early to take Pancho for a long walk every morning, I'd like to sip on my caffeine looking at a picture of him as my motivation. These Personalized Dog Mugs ($40) let you choose from 123 different dog illustrations to find the one that best resembles yours.

03
A Pup-Loving Print For Your Wall

I'd love to put one of these Pretty Fluffy Prints ($20) on the wall just so people know as soon as they walk in that I'm a crazy dog mom!

A Necklace to Wear Your Pup Close to Your Heart

If I could take Pancho with me everywhere, I would (and I do try to). But for when I can't, I like to keep him close by wearing a custom portrait of him in this cool Noble Friends Pet Necklace ($60).

05
A Phone Case to Plaster Your Pup On

Because I'm constantly juggling Pancho and my little one, I'm also constantly dropping my phone. If it's going to fall on the floor all the time, I might as well look at a picture of my pup with this Print your Pet phone case ($35, originally $60) when it lands (and hopefully prevents my screen from breaking).

06
A Shirt That Shows Your Love For Rescue Pups

A Shirt That Shows Your Love For Rescue Pups

I want to shout my love for rescue dogs wherever I go. Since that's generally not socially acceptable, I'll just wear this Far Fetched Apparel Shirt ($28).

A Healthier Food That’s Custom For Your Pup

A Healthier Food That’s Custom For Your Pup

I started a company, Ollie, because I wanted to feel better about what I was feeding Pancho. Our meals (starting at under $2 a day) are all human grade and made with real ingredients that have health benefits for dogs (like helping them lose weight). It's one of the best ways to help a dog mom lead a healthier life with her pup — and makes life easier because it's delivered to your home.
