We even got to try on a few pieces ourselves ahead of the launch, so you know what to expect. Spoiler alert: we love it all!

From trend-driven fashion to the best beauty essentials and the most stylish home finds on a budget, Target never fails to impress us. The retailer houses so many editor-backed picks, whether it's the softest pajamas or Naturium's Glycolic Acid Smoothing Body Wash that's going viral on TikTok and Twitter. And, in true Target fashion, its bi-annual designer collection has managed to exceed our expectations once again. After its hugely successful Fall 2022 Designer drop, Target partnered with Fe Noel, Agua Bendita, and Rhode for its Spring 2023 Designer Collection. In the capsule, each designer brings forth their own distinct styles, yet each piece is still universally perfect for the spring and summer. We're talking bright colorways, bold prints, tasteful cutouts, and florals galore. The collection is available in sizes XXS to 4X, and most of it is under $40.

Four of our editors got to pick a few styles from the Spring Designer Collection ahead of time and try them out, so you can see how everything looks IRL. From sizing and fit to design and quality, we gave our honest thoughts and opinions on these designer pieces, including why we gravitated towards specific styles and designers. Whether it's flattering swimwear, flowy matching sets, or cute jumpsuits and rompers, we reviewed it all. Keep reading to see who got what and how it worked for them.

Fe Noel x Target Mixed Vertical Stripe Print Long Sleeve Button Down Shirt in L ($32) and Wide Leg Pants in L ($35)

"From the minute I learned Fe Noel was doing a collection for Target, I knew that it would be as stunning as ever. Her designs are synonymous with Black girl luxury: elegant, graceful, and effortless. I've loved so many of her pieces over the years — and her Target collab didn't disappoint.

"The standout piece, in my opinion, is her two-piece striped set, featuring sunset hues of orange, yellow, mauve, burgundy, and blue. It consists of her signature wide-leg pants and a button-down shirt.

"I wore it on vacation in LA and got compliments everywhere I went. The colors looked beautiful against my skin, and most importantly, I felt comfortable in it all day long. My only tip would be to pair it with heels if you're short like me (I'm 5'1") so the pants flow as you walk, instead of dragging. Also have fun with the styling: I tied my shirt up, wore it down, and left it open with a top underneath over the course of the day." — Jessica Andrews, senior content director, Fashion

Agua Bendita x Target Romantic Floral Print Flare Sleeve Romper in S ($35)

"With the bell sleeves and ruffled hemline, I feel like I could pass for a forgotten Daisy Jones & The Six band member. One can dream anyway, right? I love that the vintage vibe makes it stand out from other rompers I own. The deep V-neck has a small hook clasp to prevent any accidental peek-a-boo moments, and the covered arms, loose fit, and soft, mid-weight fabric make it dressy but comfortable enough to wear all day. I'm already envisioning slipping this on for winery visits or wearing out during warm summer evenings when a jacket isn't necessary. All I need is a pair of oversize sunnies to top off the look." — Angela Elias, contributor, Commerce

Fe Noel x Target Fine Line Print Wide Leg Pants in S ($35)

"I've been living in high-waisted, wide-leg pants lately, and this lightweight pair might be my new favorite. The thin, silky material feels cool and easy, the darts in the front give them a polished look, and the partially elasticized waist provides all the stretch I need. I wore them out to dinner and drinks and didn't have to worry about them digging into my stomach. They look especially chic with tops that can be tucked in, like bodysuits, but I think they would also be adorable paired with a crop top for a beachy look." — AE

Rhode x Target Large Zinnia Floral Print Bell Sleeve Cut Out Jumpsuit in S ($40)

"This jumpsuit has a lot going on, but it's perfect for the maximalist at heart. The vibrant color scheme and bold pattern make a statement while the cutout shows just enough skin to feel sexy but covered up. The pants are long, so I paired them with chunky espadrilles and they worked perfectly. I'm definitely looking forward to packing this jumpsuit for my next beach vacation!" — AE

Fe Noel x Target Micro Waves Print Bralette Bikini in XS ($25) and High Leg Cheeky High Waist Bikini Bottom in XS ($22)

"I have long been a fan of Fe Noel's swimwear, particularly because of the bold prints that stand out by a mile on the beach. Being able to get my hands on a set at a more affordable price point via the Target collaboration is clutch for summer. And even though I've shied away from high-waisted silhouettes in recent history, I wore this suit all day to test the comfortability, and it made me feel secure, without cinching too tight at the stomach. Meanwhile, I love that the top is shaped similarly to a sports bra for coverage purposes." — Sarah Wasilak, senior editor, Fashion

Fe Noel x Target Crochet Cover Up Dress in XS ($35)

"The netted cover-up is versatile and not as see-through as you might expect. In other words, I felt comfortable walking to the park in the look, without an added layer of shorts underneath. Plus, the tunic paired perfectly with my mesh beach bag." — SW

Fe Noel x Target Asymmetrical Metallic Cut Out High Leg Cheeky One Piece Swimsuit in S ($45)

"As soon as I saw this one piece from Fe Noel, I knew I had to have it for the summer. My bust is on the bigger side at a 32DD, so finding swimwear that's flattering and supportive is not the easiest feat, especially one-pieces. This shimmery bronze color is something I've been hunting down for a long time, so I had incredibly high hopes that it would fit, and boy did my dream come true. This one piece in a size small not only fits like a charm, but it's so flattering. The cutouts are strategically placed to show a little skin, but still be supportive in all the right areas. My breasts felt supported as well, and the swimsuit has adjustable straps to ensure a secure fit. The high leg cut makes my legs look so elongated, and I'm 5'1." The color is just chef's kiss perfection on my skin, and when the sun hits the one-piece, the swimsuit glistens so beautifully. This one-piece provides coverage and support, plus a flattering silhouette and sexy cutouts that make me feel so confident." — Anvita Reddy, assistant editor, Commerce

Agua Bendita x Target Coral Tile Print Button-Front Tank Top in S ($25) and Tiered A-Line Mini Skirt in XS ($30)

"When browsing through this year's Spring Designer Collection, I was immediately drawn to the Agua Bendita line. Their floral prints with pastel, tropical tones and flowy, romantic silhouettes are exactly what I usually pick out for the spring and summer. Their whole line is so fun, feminine, and flirty with a beach-to-street vibe. Anyone who knows me, knows it's my dream to live on the beach, so it's no surprise that this collection spoke to me.

"I adore this Coral Tile Print Button-Front Tank Top and Tiered A-Line Mini Skirt set; it makes me feel like I'm on vacation. (Brb, checking into The White Lotus.) The miniskirt has a relaxed, comfortable fit. I like to wear it a little more high-waisted, but you can adjust according to your preference. Although, since it's a miniskirt, I do like to wear shorts or shape-wear underneath for more coverage. I love its tiered ruffle design, which makes the skirt flow so effortlessly. Plus, it has pockets!

"I was actually nervous about the fit of the top because of my bigger bust, but it sat beautifully on my chest. For a secure fit, I was able to adjust and tie the straps to my desired support and coverage. Both of these fit like it was made for my body, which made me fall in love with the line even more." — AR
