This chocolate chip cookie dough dump cake from Delicious Dump Cakes proves why dump cake recipes were so popular this year. It's a semihomemade dessert that allows you to use boxed cake mix and premade cookie dough (no shame), but tastes just as decadent and homemade as any chocolaty dessert. The recipe calls for chocolate pudding mix, milk, devil's food cake mix, and chocolate chip cookie dough, and the preparation is as easy as adding directly everything to a cake pan (that's where the "dumping" comes in!). Forty-five minutes later, you've got a gooey, moist, and satisfying dessert that's part cake and part cookie. Does it really get any better than that?

Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Dump Cake

INGREDIENTS

    • Nonstick cooking spray
    • 1 (3.9-ounce) package chocolate instant pudding mix
    • 1 3/4 cups whole milk
    • 1 (15.25- to 18-ounce) box devil’s food cake mix
    • 1 (16 1/2-ounce) package refrigerated and prepared chocolate chip cookie dough

    INSTRUCTIONS

    1. Preheat the oven to 350°F. Spray a 9x13-inch pan with nonstick cooking spray.

    2. Pour the pudding mix into the prepared pan. Add the milk and whisk until the pudding is thick and creamy, about 2 minutes. Stir in the cake mix and blend until moistened. Spread the batter evenly in the pan.

    3. Cut the cookie dough into 1/2- to 3/4-inch cubes. Scatter the cookie dough evenly over the cake batter.

    4. Bake for 40-45 minutes or until a wooden pick inserted in the center of the cake comes out clean.
