We Tried All 6 New Starbucks Frappuccinos

Starbucks just released six new Frappuccino flavors today ($4-$5), based on fan favorites and "secret menu" orders like cotton candy. We snagged one of each to sip and rate the top of the bunch. One thing is for certain — food hybrids are not going away anytime soon, as most of these beverages receive flavor inspiration from desserts, pastries, and fair food.

Caramel Cocoa Cluster

A perfect combo of cocoa to caramel, this comforting flavor would be good for Fall.

★★★★☆

Cotton Candy Crème

OK, yes it's surprising that this Frappuccino tastes exactly like cotton candy, but it's supersweet and not very refreshing. It's not something we'd order on the regular.

★★☆☆☆

Lemon Bar Crème

Lemonade combined with whipped cream is just weird. However, if you're into Creamsicles, this tart rendition may be for you.

★★☆☆☆

Cinnamon Roll

This Frappuccino tastes similar to the Cinnamon Dolce . . . but with a buttery aftertaste. It definitely reminds us of cinnamon rolls. Our only complaint is the whipped cream gives it a slightly "greasy" mouthfeel.

★★★★☆

Cupcake Crème

This flavor has a buttery flavor that separates it from the standard vanilla bean Frappuccino. If you're into cake-batter-flavored treats, go for it.

★★★☆☆

Red Velvet Cake

Even though we struggled to taste the "red velvet" part, this chocolaty Frappuccino is worth trying. The chocolate chips offer a nice crunchy consistency to the blended beverage.
