Barack and Michelle Obama were honored with official portraits at the Smithsonian's National Portrait Gallery on Monday, and the former president couldn't help but take an extra second to check out his wife's stunning painting. The literal masterpiece, which was created by Amy Sherald, shows the former first lady looking strong and beautiful in a geometric Milly gown. Barack and Michelle's love for each other is well-documented, so we're pretty sure he was the equivalent of the heart-eyes emoji while viewing the work of art.

During the unveiling, Barack thanked Amy Sherald for "so spectacularly capturing the grace and beauty and intelligence and charm and hotness of the woman I love." OK, how cute is that?! If you're in the mood for even more Barack and Michelle goodness, check out all the times they made you cry happy tears with their quotes about each other.
