13 Reasons Why Has Officially Been Renewed For Season 2

Netflix

It's official: 13 Reasons Why has been renewed for season two! The series, which is based on Jay Asher's bestselling novel, will return in 2018 for a 13-episode run, The Hollywood Reporter confirms. According to Netflix's official logline, next season will pick up "in the aftermath of Hannah Baker's death and the start of the characters' complicated journeys toward healing and recovery." In addition, executive producer Selena Gomez also shared a short teaser on Instagram, writing, "Their story isn't over. Season 2 of #13ReasonsWhy is coming."

While further details are still scarce, the show's creator, Brian Yorkey, recently confirmed that its leading lady Hannah will definitely be a part of season two. And seeing that Ross Butler is "unavailable" to reprise his character on Riverdale, we can expect that the rest of the cast will return as well. Until we get more news, we'll just be over here theorizing about next season.
