After a two-year hiatus, the Time100 Gala returned to New York City's Jazz at Lincoln Center on Wednesday, June 8. Change-makers and celebrities alike kicked off the evening on the red carpet, showing off their luxe looks for the event.
Zendaya made a fashionable appearance in a vintage, triangular-cut Bob Mackie gown. Her longtime image architect Law Roach orchestrated the elegant archival moment. Also in attendance was Oscar winner Ariana DeBose, who was styled by Zadrian Smith and Sarah Edmiston. For her onstage toast to the LGBTQIA+ community, DeBose wore a sheer Oscar de la Renta dress that featured ornate beadwork and flower appliqués. Meanwhile, Mary J. Blige, who performed at the gala, arrived in an architectural gown by Gaurav Gupta. The striking design came complete with cutouts that shaped the sea-green material into a heart-shaped bodice, along with a dramatic, spiraling ruffled train.
Marvel actor Simu Liu played host for the evening, stepping out in an electrifying blue Versace pantsuit from the pre-fall 2022 collection. Also on the menswear front, former NBA player Dwyane Wade opted for a heather-gray suit by Fear of God, a look styled by Jason Bolden. Other Time100 red carpet standouts included Brother Vellies designer Aurora James, who also donned Oscar de la Renta, along with a black tie version of her popular Globe sandals. "The Dropout"'s Amanda Seyfried wore a similarly dramatic high-low design that included a Carolina Herrera ensemble, which was paired with a custom choker necklace covered in De Beers diamonds.
