On Sunday, Nov. 4, 2018, Mary Keitany won her fourth New York City Marathon, becoming only the second woman to win the title four times. The 36-year-old runner from Kenya finished the race with an official time of 2:22:48, beating her personal course record by 50 seconds. Her time is officially the second-fastest winning time and the third-fastest time overall in race history at the New York City Marathon.
Vivian Cheruiyot, also of Kenya, placed second, finishing with an official time of 2:26:02. The defending champion, American Shalane Flanagan, finished the race with a time of 2:26:22, nearly 30 seconds faster than her winning time last year. American runner Molly Huddle came in fourth, running a time of 2:22:44.
