Confused About Screenshots on iOS 11? Here's Every Single Tool, Explained

Every new iOS update has one thing guaranteed: an inevitable scramble to make space on your phone for it. And since iOS 11 is packing in more useful and fun things to do with screenshots, you might want to clear out even more space than usual. Along with introducing a new one-handed keyboard, a customizable control center, and other updates to your iPhone, iOS 11 now lets you do a whole bunch of new things to your screenshots including doodling on them, adding signatures to them, and cropping them before saving. Check out what you can do ahead, and don't hold yourself back from updating to the newest OS system today.

Easily mark up screenshots before sending them.

After taking a screenshot, you'll see it appear on the bottom left corner of your screen. Tap on it and you'll be taken to a markup screen.

Add text to your screenshots.

Tap on the plus sign in the bottom right corner to access other tools such as adding text.

Add your signature.

In the same set of options where adding text can be found, you can also create a signature and add it to your photo.

Magnify a certain part of your screenshot.

Want to really put emphasis on something? Tap the plus sign again to access the magnify tool and select which spot you want to blow up.

Add shapes.

You can add a rectangle, circle, speech bubble, or arrow to your screenshot now. Just tap the plus sign at the bottom right corner to get to these tools.

Crop screenshots however you'd like.

Drag the blue outlined corners around your screenshot to crop it.

Zoom in.

Instead of cropping or magnifying a part of the screenshot, you can also zoom in. Just use two fingers to pinch out on get a closer look.

Use the lasso tool to move a markup.

Pick the lasso tool located at the bottom of the screen. Use the lasso tool to outline which markup you want to move. Then, just drag it where you'd like to put it instead.

Edit multiple screenshots at the same time.

If you take multiple screenshots, they'll all show up on the same edit screen. Edit them away and then save them.

Undo and redo any actions.

At the top right corner, you'll see an undo arrow and a redo arrow. Use these to fix any mistakes or to keep a markup.

Quickly send a screenshot.

Take a screenshot, tap on it, and then tap on the bottom left corner box with an arrow icon to AirDrop, text, print, and more.

Delete screenshots before they make it onto your photo album.

If you don't like a screenshot you've taken, just tap the "Done" button in the top left corner. You'll get the option to save it or delete it. You can even send a marked-up screenshot and then delete it.
