Adele Adorably Tears Up While Helping With Couple's Gender Reveal on Stage

Adele has many titles under her belt: singer, songwriter, 16-time Grammy winner, meme icon, and, a recent addition, gender-reveal pro. During the Aug. 12 show of her Las Vegas residency, the 35-year-old star helped fans Chris Dare and Shantelle Lord announce the sex of their baby on stage and brought plenty of humor to the special moment. Though signs aren't technically allowed inside The Colosseum at Caesars Palace, the soon-to-be-parents snuck in a homemade banner that read, "Adele will you do our gender reveal?!?" Upon welcoming them in front of the crowd, Adele took an envelope from Chris and exclaimed, "Oh my god, I think it's, like, from a doctor!" which elicited some laughs from the audience.

Sitting on the steps of the stage without shoes on, Adele ripped open the envelope and announced, "Shantelle and Chris are having a baby . . . boy!" After sharing a hug with both of them, the singer burst into tears and asked the couple, "If and when I get pregnant, will you do my gender reveal? At the shower, I'll have you back and you can do it." A mother of one herself, Adele also slipped in her best wishes to Shantelle on being a boy mom. "Good luck, congratulations. I've got an 11-year-old boy and woohoo, you're in for a ride!" she added, referencing her son, Angelo, whom she shares with ex-husband Simon Konecki. Chris shared footage of the sweet moment on social media, writing, "@adele you are amazing and we will remember this night for the rest of our lives!"

Adele kicked off her "Weekends With Adele" Las Vegas residency in November 2022, and she added a second leg that continues until Nov. 4. There've been plenty of headline-making moments during the concert series, such as when Adele serenaded boyfriend Rich Paul for his 41st birthday and shared, "I love you more than life itself." The "I Drink Wine" singer also had a viral exchange while taking a selfie with a fan who was using a filter on her camera. "What's your name, why are you using filters like that?" she asked the woman, adding, "We don't look like that, darling." We can always count on her to keep it real.
