Who Is Cersei's Baby Daddy on Game of Thrones? An Investigation

The following contains spoilers for Game of Thrones season seven.

We always go into episodes of Game of Thrones expecting some weirdness, but even we were thrown for a loop when Cersei Lannister casually announces her pregnancy halfway through season seven. Um, what? Between building dragon arrows and torturing her enemies to death, when did she even have time to conceive a child? Sure, this season's timeline has been weird, but we're unsure whether it's been long enough for Cersei to discover an unplanned pregnancy.

The news also perturbed us because, as weird as their romance is, Cersei and Jaime have spent plenty of time apart during the seventh season. They've definitely had some time together, but he has also gone off to fight in two different battles in season seven, too. Could the baby be somebody else's, or even not exist at all? Or perhaps their timing was just right.

To uncover the truth about Cersei's baby daddy — and what a pregnancy could mean for her fate — we took a page out of Maury's book. Let's play a game of "Who got Cersei pregnant?"!

Euron Greyjoy, in the case of Cersei's baby . . .
HBO

Euron Greyjoy, in the case of Cersei's baby . . .

You are NOT the father!
NBC

You are NOT the father!

Why not: Euron travels from King's Landing to Lannisport with his fleet so quickly, we doubt he had any time to do the deed with Cersei. Plus, she seems intent on keeping him at bay (literally) as long as possible, "until the war is won." Not to mention, Jaime doesn't trust him and would never allow Euron and Cersei to be alone long enough to make a baby.

Ser Bronn of the Blackwater, in the case of Cersei's baby . . .
HBO

Ser Bronn of the Blackwater, in the case of Cersei's baby . . .

You are NOT the father!
NBC

You are NOT the father!

Why not: While Bronn has a hard time keeping his cool around beautiful women, he also knows how crazy Cersei is thanks to his friendships with both Tyrion and Jaime. He would definitely keep his distance from Cersei in order to keep things friendly with the Lannisters . . . he wants his castle, dammit, not a baby!

Creepy Qyburn, in the case of Cersei's baby . . .
HBO

Creepy Qyburn, in the case of Cersei's baby . . .

You are NOT the father!
NBC

You are NOT the father!

Why not: Cersei keeps Qyburn around because he's useful and just the right amount of crazy, not because she likes him. Plus, he's already in her service . . . why would she sleep with him when he does everything she wants? Cersei never gives anything away for free.

Iron Bank teller, in the case of Cersei's baby . . .
HBO

Iron Bank teller, in the case of Cersei's baby . . .

You are NOT the father!
NBC

You are NOT the father!

Why not: The Iron Bank is known for being unyielding in their debt collection, and Cersei knows this. (After all, she's a Lannister and always pays hers.) She would never attempt to garner favor with the debt collector by sleeping with him because they both know it wouldn't absolve her financial woes.

The Mountain, in the case of Cersei's baby . . .
HBO

The Mountain, in the case of Cersei's baby . . .

You are NOT the father!
NBC

You are NOT the father!

Why not: Cersei is into some weird sh*t, but not "sleeping with the reanimated corpse of a giant murderer" weird.

Jaime Lannister, in the case of your sister's baby . . .
HBO

Jaime Lannister, in the case of your sister's baby . . .

You ARE the father!
NBC

You ARE the father!

Why he's the father: The folks at HBO made a pretty big deal about Jaime and Cersei having a sex scene before he left for Highgarden and to fight Daenerys. Plus, if Jaime's baby ends up harming his sister during the pregnancy or delivery, it could finally fulfill the prophecy of Cersei being killed by her younger brother.
