There Might Only Be a Few, but Every Stephen King Film on Netflix Is Worth a Watch

It might be pumpkin spice latte season, but we have reason to believe that this Fall should be relabeled as Stephen King's season. It: Chapter 2 just hit theaters, a Mike Flanagan-directed film based on King's sequel to The Shining debuts on Nov. 8, his new book The Institute is a must-read book this Autumn, and his new Netflix film In the Tall Grass is launching on streaming sites. Does the man ever sleep?
We've been counting down the days until we could stream In the Tall Grass, a film starring Patrick Wilson based on King's 2012 novella, which he cowrote with his son Joe Hill. It depicts a group of people who become lost in, you guessed it, a tall field of grass that possesses paranormal abilities. Excuse us while we cancel our autumnal corn maze plans.
To gear up for King's latest Netflix film, we're going all in on his past work and checking out his catalog of scary films on Netflix. It's the perfect way to get in the Halloween spirit — just make sure you have a teddy bear and nightlight handy.

Gerald’s Game
If you've got a romantic getaway to a secluded cabin in the woods scheduled with you and your boo, this film will make you think twice about whether or not that's a good idea. Based on King's book of the same name, this film depicts what happens when a woman (played by Carla Gugino of The Haunting of Hill House) accidentally kills her husband during sex role play whilst in a remote lake house.

1922
Based on Stephen King's novella, this Zak Hilditch-directed film stars Thomas Zane as Wilfred "Wolf" James, a farmer who goes to a hotel in Nebraska to confess to the 1922 murder of his wife. It's one of Zane's best performances to date, and it is classic horror sure to seep deep into your subconscious.

Carrie
Chances are you've watched Carrie, and if you haven't, you're probably at least familiar with the iconic pig-blood-prom scene (if not, that was probably the weirdest sentence you've ever read). Either way, there's no better time to revisit this classic horror film that stars Sissy Spacek as a telekinetic outcast teen with a thirst for vengeance.

The Mist
While this is a series and not a movie, it is still absolutely worth a viewing. It stars Morgan Spector, Alyssa Sutherland, and Gus Birney as residents of a Maine village that discover they're suddenly enveloped in a mysterious fog. Much to their dismay, they learn the fog is the least of their problems, as dangerous creatures lurk within its mist.
