Even if you're not a football fan, we can all probably agree that two of the best things about the Super Bowl are the halftime show and the commercials. This year, Rihanna took the stage for her first-ever headlining performance at the sporting event, which saw the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles face off in Glendale, AZ, on Feb. 12.
The big game is officially over — the Chiefs proved victorious — but the annual star-studded ads began rolling in back in January. On Jan. 9, FanDuel released a commercial starring former NFL player Rob Gronkowski. Three days later, Doritos dropped a Super Bowl ad teaser starring Jack Harlow, and the brand added another one with Missy Elliott on Jan. 24.
On Jan. 19, PopCorners teased its Super Bowl ad, which features a "Breaking Bad" reunion of costars Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul. And on Feb. 1, Rakuten got in on the Super Bowl fun with an ad teaser featuring Alicia Silverstone reprising her role as Cher from "Clueless." Husband and wife duo Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively joined in on Sunday with an Aviation Gin ad for him and a Puppy Bowl ad for Betty Buzz for her. And the surprise standouts of the night were Snoop Dogg's Skechers commercial, with a guest appearance by Martha Stewart, and Ram Trucks's "Premature Electrification" spot packed full of sexual innuendo.
Last year, we were treated to a slew of commercials featuring stars like Miley Cyrus, Zendaya, Megan Thee Stallion, Lindsay Lohan, Scarlett Johansson, Charlie Puth, Will Smith, and Pete Davidson. And this year, the Super Bowl ads included famous faces like Jennifer Coolidge, Adam Driver, Serena Williams, Miles Teller, Ben Stiller, Steve Martin, Diddy, John Travolta, Zach Braff, Donald Faison, and many, many more.
