Mel and Jack Grapple With Her Pregnancy in "Virgin River" Season 4 Trailer

We finally have a glimpse of what's to come in "Virgin River" season four. On July 8, Netflix released the trailer for the upcoming season, which will arrive on July 20 with 12 episodes to continue the show's next chapter. Season three brought all the big-time, small-town drama and romance we've come to expect from the Netflix series. So thankfully, we'll be heading back to the quaint town soon enough to pick up after that emotional season finale.

At season three's conclusion, viewers watched as Jack attempted to propose to Mel before she stopped him to drop a bombshell: she's pregnant, and she's not sure if it's his baby or from the embryo she used from her late husband, Mark. The paternity mystery continues in season four, it seems, as Mel says in the trailer, "I'm pregnant and I don't know who the father is." Despite suggesting a paternity test, Jack is hesitant: "If we found out that Mark's the father, it could change how I feel about our baby."

The trailer also teases some "competition" in the form of a new doctor at the clinic, and grapples with Jack's drinking habits — with Mel asking him to cut back on alcohol.

Considering "Virgin River"'s success, Netflix renewed the series, which is based on Robyn Carr's book series of the same name, for seasons four and five in September 2021, TV Line reported. So there's already more drama guaranteed for at least one more season after the show's summer premiere.

Of course, there are a lot of loose ends to tie up when "Virgin River" returns. Luckily,
"Virgin River"'s season four logline promises more romance, love connections, and that new handsome face in town.
