Disney's first new movie of 2021, Raya and the Last Dragon, is now streaming free on Disney+ (for subscribers)! The beautifully animated movie, which features Disney's first Southeast Asian princess (voiced by Star Wars's Kelly Marie Tran), tells a story that centers on trust, teamwork, and coming together with those you differ from in pursuit of a greater good.
After Raya is semiresponsible for unleashing an ancient force of evil born from human conflict, the Druun — which was last seen 500 years prior when dragons and humans lived in harmony — she embarks on a journey with some unexpected friends to restore peace to the divided land of Kumandra. Her adventure is filled with fun scenes that your family will want to replay over and over, but that said, this movie is very action-packed, which may be a lot for younger or more sensitive viewers.
If you're planning on watching Raya and the Last Dragon with your kids, keep reading for the few things you may want to know before pressing play.
