Jennifer Garner Loves Playing Mom Roles Because "Nothing Will Push You Further"

After finally getting her very own star on The Walk of Fame in Hollywood, Jennifer Garner has a heck of a lot to be proud of. The 46-year-old mom of three and Peppermint actress opened up to Variety about playing several "mom" roles, as well as how excited her parents were after hearing she was getting her star — and what she has to say will make you love her even more.

Jennifer explained that mothers wear many hats, so to only frame women in the role of moms is "crazy." However, she added that she actually loves stepping into the role of a mom on screen: "I love playing a mom because there are no higher stakes then something involving your kids," Jennifer said. "Nothing will push you further."

Jennifer also mentioned that while her siblings lead their own busy lives, her entire family was thrilled that she got her own spot on the Walk of Fame.

"My family is not a Hollywood-y family," she explained. "My little sister is an accountant. My older sister's in marketing. They have always been unabashedly proud and happy for me, but my job is not the focal point of our family."

But obviously, no one was more excited than her mom. Jennifer said her mother was "the most excited I think I've ever heard her be about anything!"

The actress added that the whole family was set to rent cars and head to Los Angeles for the ceremony, joking that none of them know the area well at all. "Luckily, they don't know Los Angeles well because I'm sure I'll be way out in the desert somewhere!"
