The Soundtrack For "The Dropout" Is a Y2K Time Capsule
Hulu's "The Dropout" debuted on March 3, recounting the scandal of Elizabeth Holmes's (played by Amanda Seyfried) now-dissolved company, Theranos. The limited series premiered with three episodes depicting Holmes's early years as a budding tech founder, while its later episodes dig deeper into what's happening behind the scenes of her company.
Holmes founded her startup in 2003 shortly after dropping out of college, and the new Hulu show picks up on this part of her story — with nostalgic Y2K music to match. With hits from Missy Elliott, Justin Timberlake, Amy Winehouse, Katy Perry, and Nick Jones, the soundtrack perfectly contextualizes Holmes's story. Ahead, check out all the songs featured on "The Dropout" so far.
