Dietitians Recommend RXBars on Amazon

5 Dietitians Recommend This 1 Food on Amazon, and It's Pretty Darn Delicious

You probably already rely on Amazon for household staples such as toilet paper and coat hangers — you can't beat the free two-day shipping with Amazon Prime — but the online retailer is also a convenient (and healthy!) place to stock up on groceries.

When we asked dietitians what they recommend most from Amazon, one product kept popping up over and over again: RXBARs ($20 for a 12-count box). And since we already love RXBARs for their clean ingredients and boost of protein, it's no surprise it's a favorite among RDs.

"These are my favorite bars, and Amazon typically has a better price than many retailers," Alyssa Cohen, RD, ACSM-certified trainer, told POPSUGAR. "I love the simple ingredient list; most have nuts, egg whites, and dates. Although the sugar content is not low, the sugar comes from dates rather than added sugar, and the bar has a fair amount of protein from egg whites and nuts, and fat from nuts and fiber, making it a great all-in-one snack that's portable and easy to eat on the go."

"One of my go-to protein bars is the RXBAR," Jamie Johnson, RDN, said. "They are so delicious and taste almost like dessert, yet they don't have any unwanted ingredients, like added sugar or artificial ingredients. Great for those with allergies since they are not made with soy, dairy, or gluten."

Amanda Sauceda, MS, RDN, who is a health ambassador for RXBAR but doesn't receive monetary compensation, also recommends the bars for their simple ingredients and boost of protein. Rachel Silverman, MS, RD, said RXBARs have a healthy balance of macronutrients and recommends them to her clients. Lauren O'Connor, MS, RD, and owner of Nutri Savvy Health, recommends RXBARs in the chocolate sea salt flavor, saying it's the perfect combination of salty and sweet, and the 12 grams of protein and five grams of fiber will leave you feeling satisfied.

RXBARs come in 10 different flavors on Amazon, including apple cinnamon, blueberry, chocolate sea salt, and peanut butter, and are all made with simple, clean ingredients. Order a box and stash them in your purse, gym bag, and desk for a filling, on-the-go snack.
