This Pop Rocks Margarita Is All Grown Up

For this kid who grew up in the '90s, Pop Rocks candy was my absolute favorite due to the crackling effect on my tongue as I poured entire packets of the sugary goodness into my mouth. But growing up doesn't mean abandoning old favorites — in fact, growing up has made Pop Rocks even better! Now the popping treat can be incorporated into cocktails.

This Pop Rocks margarita crackles and pops just like the candy does, both within the drink itself and along the rim. The nostalgia factor of this cocktail is as satisfying as the drink itself. Pick up a few packs of your favorite Pop Rocks flavor next time you pass by a candy store, and your happy-hour routine will rock.

    • 1 packet Pop Rocks
    • Agave
    • 1 1/2 ounces tequila

    • Ice

    INSTRUCTIONS

    1. Crush Pop Rocks packet and pour onto a plate or flat surface. Line the rim of a 16-ounce drinking glass with a little agave, and then dip glass into Pop Rocks so candy sticks to the rim.

    3. Fill glass with ice and pour cocktail into glass.
