Octavia Spencer Has a Painting of Her Character in The Help in Her Home, and We Love It So Much

Octavia Spencer's chat with Melissa McCarthy and Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show was so entertaining, you might've missed a sweet but subtle detail of her home decor in the background. Octavia filmed her side of the self-isolation interview from her Los Angeles abode, and in the top right corner of the screen, you can see a framed piece of art. Squint (or zoom, like I did) and you'll notice it's actually a tribute to The Help — the 2011 film for which Octavia won the Oscar for best supporting actress.

Octavia's painting features her character, Minny, and Aibileen (played by Viola Davis) standing by as Skeeter (played by Emma Stone) sits at a typewriter. Although the art goes unacknowledged throughout the interview, it's a lovely reminder of the role Octavia says "changed [her] personal and professional life." Watch the clip above to see it for yourself.
