With so many cool and affordable Airbnbs you can rent, I often find myself choosing my destination based on the accommodations. And as nomadic travel grows in popularity (like #vanlife, for example), rental options have gone beyond the standard shared home to quirky living spaces on wheels. Vintage airstreams in particular have been popping up everywhere from trendy weddings to backyards available for stay. Sleep within the Sierra de las Nieves mountain range and in luxury at that. This camper situated in Southern Spain is both contemporary and retro with all the amenities you'll need. A 20-minute walk will get to you the nearest village where you'll find several restaurants, cafes, and a supermarket.

The Malibu Dream Airstream couldn't be a more fitting name for this California getaway. It's close enough to Los Angeles, but surrounded by enough nature and quiet to feel like you've escaped. The trailer's been redesigned into a large studio with a deck that oversees the Channel islands, Catalina, and County Line beach. You're definitely paying a hefty price for luxury.

By the looks of its exterior, you would never guess that this vintage 1948 camper has completely renovated quarters. Step inside and you'll be transported into a stylish space fit with a white fur rug, hardwood flooring, kitchen, and full bathroom. You seriously would never have to step out, but if you did, you can also enjoy an outdoor fire pit beneath the stars. TV and Wi-Fi aren't available, allowing yourself for some well needed R&R.

This unique custom-built caravan features a double bed, dining nook, storage shelves, Wi-Fi, air conditioning, and bathroom. Located in the Omotesando neighborhood, the trailer sits on top of a secluded deck and is parked inside a mixed-use complex with a co-working space (that you also have full access to), gallery, and cafes. Upscale dining and shopping are only a few minutes away, while Shibuya and Harajuku only require a short 10-minute walk.
