Apple Has a New Solution For Your Cracked iPhone

Got an iPhone with a cracked screen? You can now turn your busted device into store credit. Apple has had its Reuse and Recycling Program in place for a while now but didn't accept damaged phones before — only old ones in good condition. Starting this week, you can trade in "units with damaged displays, cameras, and buttons within reason," according to 9 to 5 Mac.

Apple hopes the new program will encourage users to turn them in for upgrades rather than just get a screen repair. Sources told 9 to 5 Mac that you can get $50 for a 5S, $200 for a 6, and $250 for a 6 Plus. If your device is eligible (it depends on the extent of the damage), you'll get a gift card redeemable at the Apple Retail Store or Apple Online Store. You might want to save it for the upcoming iPhone 7 or iPhone 5SE.
