5 Former Celebrity Couples Who Showed Up at the Met Gala

Monday night's Met Gala brought together some of the biggest stars from the worlds of film, fashion, music, and art — and it just so happens that some of those stars used to date each other. Much like during this year's award season ceremonies, former celebrity couples had to figure out ways to dodge each other on the red carpet, inside the gala, and at all the afterparties.

Orlando Bloom may have shown up with current girlfriend Katy Perry (and their matching Tamagotchis), but the actor was also in the same room as his ex-wife, Miranda Kerr, and former girlfriend Kate Bosworth. Ciara likely went out of her way to avoid her ex, rapper Future, while things could have gotten really hairy for Kristen Stewart, who managed to pop up around the same time as Robert Pattinson and his fiancée, FKA Twigs. Oh, and Liberty Ross — the ex-wife of that director Kristen hooked up with — was on the red carpet too. Yikes. Keep reading to see all the former couples who (hopefully) avoided awkward run-ins, then LOL at the funniest internet memes from the night.

Ciara and Future

The couple called off their engagement in August 2014, just three months after their son, Future Zahir Wilburn, was born. At the time, a source told Us Weekly, "He cheated on her. Game over," with more reports alleging that the rapper was getting hot and heavy with his wardrobe stylist. Though she arrived solo at the Met Gala, Ciara is engaged to Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson, and she and Future have been in a dramatic custody battle over their young son.

Bradley hit the Met Gala red carpet with director David O. Russell and met up with his model girlfriend, Irina Shayk, inside. Zoe arrived in a truly stunning Dolce & Gabbana gown with her handsome husband, Marco Perego — and the two couldn't keep their hands off of each other while posing for photos. Bradley and Zoe dated on and off for about a year in 2012. Zoe went on to marry Marco in a surprise ceremony the following year, and they welcomed twin sons, Cy and Bowie, in 2014.

Orlando Bloom got cozy with girlfriend Katy Perry at the Met Gala, but two of his gorgeous exes also happened to be in attendance. Orlando's ex-wife, Miranda Kerr, showed up solo in a sexy cutout number. Miranda and Orlando split in October 2013 after three years of marriage; the couple began dating in 2007 and tied the knot in July 2010. Their son, Flynn, was born the following year.

Kate Bosworth, who dated Orlando on and off from 2003 to 2006, arrived with husband Michael Polish. She and Orlando seem to be on good terms, as they were photographed looking chummy at a cocktail event in September 2015. Oh, and for what it's worth, Selena Gomez and Nina Dobrev — two of Orlando's rumored hookups — also popped up at the Met Gala.

Kristen could have easily gotten herself in a pickle at the Met Gala this year; not only was her ex-boyfriend Robert Pattinson there with his fiancée, singer FKA Twigs, but so was Liberty Ross — model and former wife of Rupert Sanders. You might remember that Kristen was photographed kissing the then-married Snow White and the Huntsman director in 2012, a tryst that ended her relationship with Robert and caused Liberty to file for divorce after more than a decade of marriage.

Kristen has since moved on (she's currently dating French singer Soko), as has Liberty: her date for the Met Gala was music executive Jimmy Iovine, whom she married on Valentine's Day 2016.
