Usher Serenading Issa Rae on Stage Is Obliterating the Internet

Issa Rae is living the dream. The "Insecure" star was serenaded by Usher during his Las Vegas residency show at Park MGM on Oct. 15, and watching the performance is guaranteed to make you blush.

In a video Usher posted on Instagram, the singer croons his hit 2004 track "Superstar" to Rae — quite the apt song choice for the Golden Globe-nominated actor and producer — as she beams from ear to ear, holds his hands, and dances along. Rae somehow manages to remain calm, cool, and collected the whole time, despite the fact that she has a front-row seat to Usher's angelic vocals and suave moves. The clip ends just as he pulls her onto the stage steps for even more serenading.

Usher captioned his Instagram post, "@issarae in the building!! #UsherMyWay 🍫 All Love." Soon after, the "Rap Sh!t" creator reposted the video on her own Instagram Story, simply writing, "Show was amazing." The footage quickly spread across the internet, leaving a wake of envious fans in its wake. "Since me and Issa Rae kind of look alike, imma pretend that video of Usher to singing to her is me," one Twitter user wrote, while another added, "Those Issa Rae Usher posts makes me want to get in the 1st plane to Vegas."

Of course, some fans couldn't help but ship Rae and Usher, but as a reminder, the two are happily in love with their respective partners. Rae married her longtime partner, Louis Diame, last summer, and Usher welcomed his second child with girlfriend Jenn Goicoechea — his fourth child overall — in October 2021.

Usher: My Way the Vegas Residency kicked off on July 15 and recently extended to include more concerts from March through July 2023. The Grammy-winning singer has continuously pulled out all the stops at his shows, bringing other musical stars like Snoop Dogg, Tevin Campbell, and Chris Brown on stage to perform with him. This past weekend, Anita Baker showed up to sing "Happy Birthday" to Usher, who turned 44 on Oct. 14, making for quite the unforgettable moment. Plus, he's serenaded and danced with other women in addition to Rae, namely Tiffany Haddish and Taraji P. Henson.
