10 Celebrity Couples Who Found Love on the Disney Channel — Even If It Didn't Last

Disney Channel has bred some of the biggest stars in Hollywood, but it is also responsible for some of the biggest celebrity couples. Mickey Mouse brought classic '90s couple Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake together, while Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens will forever be remembered for their musical love story. Even though most of these couples aren't together anymore, their romances (and fan-favorite shows and movies) will always hold a special place in our teenage hearts.

01

Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake

The pop couple first met in 1989 when they costarred on the Disney Channel series, The All New Mickey Mouse Club. They began dating in 1999, though didn't officially confirm the relationship until a year later. In 2002, they parted ways, leaving a trail of multiple cryptic breakup songs in their wake.

02

Aaron Carter and Hilary Duff

The two first met on the set of Hilary's hit show, Lizzie McGuire, in 2001 and dated for almost two years before Aaron started dating Lindsay Lohan — at the same time. The pair officially called it quits in 2003, but Lindsay and Hilary's feud continued well beyond their breakup. In 2014, Aaron resurfaced the tween romance when he reposted a picture of Hilary and tweeted, "I'll spend the rest of my life trying to better myself to get back to her. I don't care what ANY of you think."

03

Nick Jonas and Miley Cyrus

OK, this is kind of cheating. Even though Nick made an appearance with his brothers on Hannah Montana during the show's second season, he actually met Miley a year before. During their two-year relationship, they were one of the biggest Disney Channel couples, as they traveled from state to state together during the singer's Best of Both Worlds Tour. There were rumors that they reconciled in 2009 when they were spotted on jet skis together in Georgia, but Miley eventually began dating her The Last Song costar (and future fiancé) Liam Hemsworth.

04

Joe Jonas and Demi Lovato

Demi first met Joe when she played his love interest in the Disney Channel original movie Camp Rock in 2007 and toured with the Jonas Brothers the following year. The pair briefly dated in 2010, but have managed to stay friends since.

05

Dylan Sprouse and Miley Cyrus

During an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live, the former Suite Life of Zack and Cody star (pictured on the left) revealed that he dated the Disney Channel starlet for a day when he was about 11 or 12. "We met on her set, I believe, and we dated," he explained. "And then Nick Jonas walked by and it was over!"

06

David Henrie and Lucy Hale

While David was rumored to be dating his TV sister Selena Gomez during his time on Wizards of Waverly Place, he actually fell for a different costar. Before making it big on Pretty Little Liars, Lucy had a guest-starring role on the hit Disney Channel show as David's love interest, Miranda.

07

Bridgit Mendler and Shane Harper

The pair played love interests on Disney Channel's show Good Luck Charlie before taking their romance off screen shortly after. They dated for about four years before Bridgit revealed that she was single during an interview in 2015. She even wrote a song about their breakup called "Atlantis," while Shane channeled his emotions in his steamy music video with his Dirty Dancing costar Sarah Hyland.

08

Dove Cameron and Ryan McCartan

The two first met on the set of Dove's hit show, Liv and Maddie, and took their romance public in August 2013. The pair got engaged in April 2016, but called it off almost six months later. "Dove has decided this relationship isn't what she wants," Ryan wrote on Twitter following their split. "We still love each other very much. Please be sensitive, as this is painful."

09

Dove Cameron and Thomas Doherty

Not long after her breakup with Ryan, the actress started getting cozy with her Descendants 2 costar when they were filming the original movie in 2016. She confirmed their relationship in February, adding that her new man was a "lovely, lovely person."

10

Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens

Zac and Vanessa will always be one of the most iconic Disney Channel pairs. The first met on the set of their original movie High School Musical in 2006 and started dating shortly after. Their relationship outlasted their musical franchise, but they eventually called it quits in 2010.
