Not a morning person? You might soon become one with a new alarm clock that wakes you up with smells, rather than a jarring sound.
Sensorwake, which debuted at this year's CES, uses one of seven scents to get you up. All you have to do is set an alarm, insert the recyclable capsule into the clock, and you'll soon wake up to your favorite smell. In product testing, the company touts that 99 percent of sleepers woke up "within two minutes." If you have a stuffy nose or are super paranoid about not waking, a backup alarm with sound is also on the clock.
The seven scents include croissant, espresso, seaside, lush jungle, chocolate, and peppermint. Each of the aroma capsules looks like an air freshener and can be used 30 times. If you purchase just the Sensorwake, it comes with a special toast smell capsule. You can also purchase "scent packs" that perfectly complement each other. For example, if you're on vacation, you should get the "Enjoy the Break Pack," which has the seaside and lush jungle smells. Each of these packs sells for $11.
Excited yet? You're not the only one, considering the company's Kickstarter campaign last June raised more than $200,000. The company's founder truly believes that this is going to be the only alarm clock you'll ever want again. "Human beings were not meant to wake up with iPhone alarms," said Guillaume Rolland, CEO and founder, in a press release.
The Sensorwake will ship out to its Kickstarter backers in May, but you can also preorder it at a current special price of $89 with shipment expected in June. Now this may finally get us out of bed with a smile on our face every day.
