During Disney's television special, Wonderful World of Disney: Disneyland at 60, the company once again treated fans to another peek of this epic Star Wars world. Three new photos as well as a clip showed fans what they can expect.
This new information is in addition to Disney's original announcement of opening two different Star Wars lands at both Disneyland in Anaheim, CA, and Disney World in Orlando, FL. That news came out of Disney's annual D23 Expo, where Disney showed off renderings of the new parks as well as short teaser of what fans can expect.
It's the "largest single-themed expansion" with 14 acres devoted to creating these new Star Wars experiences, like a chance to fly in the Millennium Falcon, according to Disney. "These new lands at Disneyland and Walt Disney World will transport guests to a whole new Star Wars planet, including an epic Star Wars adventure that puts you in the middle of a climactic battle between the First Order and the Resistance," said Bob Iger, Disney's CEO at D23.
Check out the illustrations of what the theme park is supposed to look like, and get ready to book a flight to either park as soon as an opening date is revealed.
If you visit, you'll get to drink in a place styled like the Mos Eisley cantina. Just be ready with your lightsaber if anyone tells you that they have the death sentence in 12 [star] systems. Everyone will also be in character from the movie, making Star Wars come to life even more.
As you can see, Disney's plans for this are huge — literally. It almost looks like the limit does not exist of how big this world is going to be.
Every single fan's dream come true will arrive at the new parks with the Millennium Falcon ride. Hopefully C-3PO won't be around to tell you the odds of how well you're flying.
As part of the ride, only you will be able to control the biggest hunk of junk in the galaxy.
As part of the theme park, guests will be put in the middle of a fight between the First Order and the Resistance.
It definitely feels intense! Have you picked which side you'll defend?
