Someone Dropped an iPhone From Space to See If It Would Survive

Apple might be working a solution for cracked screens, but the next best thing is a heavy-duty case. For proof, take a look at this video by the case-making company Urban Armor Gear; it sent an iPhone 6 to space back in November to see if it would survive a fall back down to Earth.

Spoiler alert: the phone won.

It did have the help of a parachute, but it endured heights of over 101,000 feet, temperatures as cold as -79°F, and winds as strong as 70 miles per hour. Two GoPros were attached to a rig to capture this incredible footage.

"The iPhone 6 was wrapped in our composite iPhone 6 case with no screen protector installed. The iPhone was on upon takeoff but froze and shut down as the temperature dropped," wrote the company on its YouTube page. "When the iPhone 6 and flight rig were found, the iPhone was powered on and tested for full functionality."

Sounds like a bunch of sorcery.
