Apple Quietly Ended One of Your Favorite Programs

RIP to Apple's "Single of the Week" promotion. After more than a decade, it looks like the program — which used to give out free music every week on iTunes from popular and lesser-known artists — has gone the way of the iPod classic.
As Business Insider notes, the promotion hasn't appeared so far in 2015, and someone on the official Apple support forum said an Apple employee confirmed that it's been discontinued after first launching in 2004.
