Take a First Look at Apple's New Photos For Mac

Apple

Apple is killing iPhoto — but don't worry, it's replacing it with something better. Photos for Mac is the new photo management software for OS X, and the company just gave users a little tease of what's to come. In the Spring, Mac users will get a free upgrade to the new software, which comes with some cool new features. The standouts:

  • It works with iCloud photo library, which offers access to your entire photo and video collection from all devices.
  • When you make a change (favorite or add a photo to an album) on any device, that change will sync automatically.
  • You won't have to waste storage space on photos, since the full resolution will be in the cloud.
  • Beautiful new design organizes photos like the Photos app for iPhone.
