Sonic the Hedgehog on Oculus Rift Is a Childhood Dream Come True

To those who daydreamed of being able to speed through the hills and upside-down loops of Sonic the Hedgehog in real life when playing the game as kids, your day has come. Sort of. YouTube user Chadtronic created a Sonic level using Unreal Engine, a set of game-developing tools, along with Sonic GDK tools to create a first-person virtual reality experience on Oculus Rift.

Watch game play in the video below. Be warned, even though we aren't wearing the Rift goggles ourselves, the first-person view of the speeds, loops, and general hedgehogian movements require a strong stomach. Sonic must have been on a lot of Dramamine.
