Well, Selena Gomez, color me impressed. Not only did I love how full my brows looked with Rare Beauty's two-sided gel/pencil combo, I was immediately inspired to buy the "Inspire" lip soufflé shade once I spotted it on a fellow editor. With that weakness for all things eye makeup and creamy lipsticks, I still rarely wear base makeup, especially these days. My skin is rather sensitive, prone to redness, and blessed with dark spots, so I do like a little coverage (or to at least hide my dark circles) when I can find the time. And though I almost added the line's tempting foundation for "someone who dislikes wearing foundation" to my cart, I decided to test out the concealer in its place.

It turned out to not be a mistake, and I couldn't be more pleased by the coverage from this little tube. Check out my before and after photos, and learn why I liked it, ahead.

Before

For the sake of transparency, here is a closeup of my skin. Not only is it easy to see the redness, uneven tone, and hyperpigmentation on my (obviously) bare face, I'd like to even point out the marks from where I had been wearing glasses earlier that day.

After

Here's what my face looks like with Rare Beauty's concealer dabbed onto dark spots with the doe-foot applicator tip and onto larger zones (like the side of my nose) with the long, flat side.

After I targeted problem spots, I used my fingers to spread this product all over my face, too. I'm definitely impressed by how well this formula covered my skin and still ended up in a radiant finish, not at all cakey or dry.

If you'd prefer not to get your hands dirty, there's also a Rare Beauty by Selena Gomez Liquid Touch Concealer Brush ($16) for a more diffused, sanitary application instead.
