Mandy Moore Says Her Sons Have an "Unmistakable Bond" as She Shares Sweet New Photos

After years of playing one of America's favorite TV moms, "This Is Us"'s Rebecca Pearson, Mandy Moore welcomed her first child in real life with her husband, Dawes frontman Taylor Goldsmith, in February 2021. Over a year later, the couple — who tied the knot on Nov. 18, 2018 — welcomed their second child into the world.
Of starting a family, Moore told Romper in 2021, "We did ovulation tests, all that stuff," adding that she finally saw a fertility specialist who discovered there was an issue with Moore's uterus and that she might have endometriosis. "I was fully prepared to go have surgery and fix my uterus and hopefully get rid of the endometriosis, if it was there. It was nice to have a plan and to know, 'OK, well, this is why I haven't been pregnant yet.' " Then, right before she was set to have surgery, she happened to get pregnant!
In February, Moore opened up to People about what it's like being a mother of two children under age five, sharing, "You wake up with endless gratitude every day, but that doesn't take away from the fact that it is hard work. And the lack of sleep is something that is a constant and makes everything feel all the more challenging. But, I think, it's just having grace for ourselves as parents and as humans and recognizing that each day is going to present its own challenges, but its own immense joy as well."
These days, Moore's children are closer than ever. "These two and their unmistakable bond. Deeply grateful to witness such joy," Moore wrote on Instagram on June 7 alongside a gallery of adorable photos of her children playing together at a picnic.

August Harrison Goldsmith
Moore and Taylor welcomed their first child, a son named August, on Feb. 20, 2021. In matching announcement posts three days later, the proud parents wrote: "Gus is here 💙💙💙💙. Our sweet boy, August Harrison Goldsmith. He was punctual and arrived right on his due date, much to the delight of his parents. We were prepared to fall in love in all sorts of brand new ways, but it goes beyond anything we could have ever imagined."
After Gus's birth, Taylor adorably changed his Instagram bio to read, simply, "Dad," and Moore shared the sweet inspiration behind their son's name.
"It was last August when @taylordawesgoldsmith and I found out we were having a boy (it's also Taylor's birth month) and we always loved the name... so it was settled very early on in our book," she wrote on Instagram. "Then for our anniversary in November, T gifted me with this blanket with the 'A' (for Amanda) made from extra material from my wedding dress and 'T' (for Taylor) from his wedding shirt. Felt like a very fitting amalgamation of our whole story. I can't wait to pass this on to our sweet August one day."
While celebrating his first week earthside, Moore came up with a very fitting, very cute hashtag: "#thisisgus."
Oscar Bennett Goldsmith
The couple announced the arrival of their second child, Oscar "Ozzie" Bennett Goldsmith, on Oct. 21, 2022. In a joint Instagram post, they wrote, "Ozzie is here! Oscar Bennett Goldsmith arrived a little late but with much aplomb (and an easier/speedier delivery than his big brother, much to the delight of his parents). Every adage is true: our hearts have doubled in size and the immediacy of the love is astounding. He is beyond words and we are so grateful for our family of four! 💓💓💓💓."
Since Ozzie's arrival, Moore has been documenting her journey as a mother of two on her Instagram. In December 2022, the actor shared in a post, "This sweet Angel baby is 2 months old today and he's a GIANT bundle of snuggles, who demands food at all times, rolls over the instant you put him on his tummy, is a dynamite traveler, sleeper and set baby, seems genuinely impressed with his big brother, loves to fall asleep in anyone's arms and is generally so smooshy and dreamy he has Mom thinking about doing it all over again 😳. We're so grateful for all you are and can't wait for more, sweetest Ozzie!!"
