Alright, superhero fans, it's time to welcome another big-name actor to the Marvel Cinematic Universe: Kit Harington! After Harington wrapped as Jon Snow on HBO's Game of Thrones, he ventured from beyond the wall to the Marvel Studios office. After recent speculation suggested the 32-year-old actor would be involved in the MCU, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige confirmed that he is indeed joining the heavyweight franchise as Dane Whitman, aka the Black Knight, in The Eternals. The official announcement was made at the D23 convention on Saturday.
Harington's part in The Eternals means he'll be reunited with Game of Thrones costar Richard Madden, who played Jon's brother, Robb Stark. In the MCU, Madden will portray Icarus, alongside Harington and Angelina Jolie. Another Game of Thrones actor who broke into MCU's Earth-199999 is Peter Dinklage, who portrayed the wise-cracking Tyrion Lannister on the HBO series. His Marvel appearance came in Avengers: Infinity War as the character Eitri, the manufacturer of Thor's Stormbreaker weapon.
Jon Snow's watch might have ended, but it looks like heroic new beginnings await Harington! Now if only we could get Spider-Man back into — you know what, I'll save that rant for another day.
