Who Is on The Masked Singer Season 2? The Ultimate Guide to the Stars Under Those Masks

The Masked Singer's second season is under way, you guys! That means the most bonkers reality show on TV has a whole new celebrity cast donning those bizarre masks that leave us all with nightmares. What's not to love?

At this point we have plenty of clues about which stars are still under those costumes. As for those who've been revealed? The Penguin, the Black Widow, the Skeleton, the Egg, the Ice Cream, the Panda, and the Eagle have all been unmasked. However, there's still quite a bit of theorizing left to do since the rest of the crew is still under wraps.

While the costumes might come across as wild, they actually hold significant clues about the identity of the people underneath. Marina Toybina, The Masked Singer's costume designer, explained to Deadline that she matched "each character with the artists that were cast" while creating the unique looks.

"[The celebrity performers] were given a few sketches to kind of pick their own, and decide who they relate to, and then from there, it became a collaborative experience. They explained to me [what resonated], and things that made sense right away, as to what gravitated their eye to the artwork. Then, once the costume was executed, I was able to really customize it for them — not just doing proper tailoring, but [putting in] special things that made the costume even that much more like an equal match, as to why they wanted to be behind that mask."

So, you'll need to pay extra special attention to the new batch of costumes! As you'll recall, last year's cast included frontrunners Gladys Knight, Donny Osmond, Joey Fatone, Rumer Willis, Ricki Lake, and of course the season one winner, T-Pain. The same panel of judges — Robin Thicke, Jenny McCarthy, Ken Jeong, and Nicole Scherzinger — have returned for season two, as well as host Nick Cannon. Ahead, see everything we know about the Flamingo, the Fox, the Leopard, the Tree, the Rottweiler, the Butterfly, and more! Just be warned: Big spoilers for The Masked Singer to follow!

Who is the Penguin on The Masked Singer?
Fox

Who is the Penguin on The Masked Singer?

The clues: The Penguin made numerous references to people not believing in her — calling her "not pretty enough," or "not funny enough" — so it seemed like this could be an industry underdog. She also had a lengthy "hit list" that included a classroom bully, comedy club owner, Hollywood casting director, her "exes," the press, and also herself. "I don't need a permission slip from anybody to be who I am," she also says in the clip, before joining a group of protesters.

Who it might be: All signs were pointing to a comedian, right? Specifically a woman who may have struggled with her weight or appearance, or at least been unfairly criticized for it by the press. Given the protest at the end — which suggested she isn't afraid to get political or speak her mind — we guessed Sherri Shepherd!

Who is the Black Widow on The Masked Singer?
Fox

Who is the Black Widow on The Masked Singer?

The clues: Black Widow's performance of Whitney Houston's "I Wanna Dance With Somebody" was pretty solid, which made us think she had experience singing. Her clue package's most notable moments were references to tarot cards — is she a fortune teller? A medium? A psychic? — and fashion design ("I'll leave you hanging by a thread"). Her second clue video mentions "hiding in plain sight" despite living in the public eye, as well as a bunch of nods to acting ("director's cut," "deleted scenes") and shedding her fluffy onscreen persona.

Who it might be: We guessed Raven Symoné, from That's So Raven — not only does she have experience as a performer, but her character in the Disney show was psychic, and she's also designed clothes.

Who Is the Skeleton on The Masked Singer?
Fox

Who Is the Skeleton on The Masked Singer?

The clues: We discovered the skeleton went through a near-death experience, hence the costume, but is "far from dead" after being "around the block a few times." He was also in a band or ensemble cast, since he said he's used to "playing second fiddle" ("I finally get that spotlight all to myself.") The most important clues were the references to Saturday Night Live — Skeleton says both "Party on" and "Wild and crazy party," and there's Christmas sweater imagery.

Who it might be: We thought it might be Dana Carvey, because not only did the actor and comedian undergo a risky heart surgery, but "party on" is a famous line from his movie Wayne's World where he plays second fiddle Garth to Mike Myers's Wayne. But in the end we were bested by the Skeleton! As it turns out, the Skeleton had a connection to SNL, but not as a comedian on the show. Find out who it is in the next slide!

Who is the Eagle on The Masked Singer?
Fox

Who is the Eagle on The Masked Singer?

The clues: Nick Cannon introduced Eagle's clue package by saying he has a "signature rock style," and later the contestant offers up some puzzling information about his body temperature — "If you know an Eagle's body temperature, you may be hot on my tail." (An eagle's body temp is 106 degrees, for the record.) His clip took place in a classroom filled with vintage TV equipment, a radio, and an apple, and noted that he's "studious" and "intelligent." Apparently the Eagle is also sick of listening to other peoples' stories, and is ready to write his own.

Who it might be: At first it seemed like Eagle would be someone like Bret Michaels or Kid Rock, and then later clues suggested it could be a well-known interviewer. (Robin Thicke guessed Jimmy Fallon . . . lol OK.)

Who is the Panda on The Masked Singer?

The clues: The clues for Panda included loving "new challenges" and cooking, as well as pushing herself "to the limit." There were also multiple mentions of having an intense admiration for the "strength" of her father and "fighting" for her dreams alongside "the world's greatest" family.

Who it might be: At least one of the judges picked up on the athletic clues, with Nicole Scherzinger suggesting Venus Williams. As for the rest, Wanda Sykes, Queen Latifah, and Loni Love were guessed.

Who is the Egg on The Masked Singer?
Fox

Who is the Egg on The Masked Singer?

The clues: In addition to plenty of snowy and Winter imagery, the Egg mentioned that he wanted to "go for the gold" in the competition. Could he be an athlete who typically competes in cold climates, like a snowboarder or figure skater? Egg also said he spent years "being on top of the pyramid" and that you "might figure that coming to The Masked Singer is a bit of a leap for me." (It has to be a figure skater, right?)

Who we thought it might be: Egg performed Lady Gaga's "Just Dance," and the judges guessed it might be Johnny Weir, Adam Rippon, Jonathan Van Ness, or Christian Siriano. Find out Egg's identity in the next slide!

Who is the Ice Cream on The Masked Singer?
Fox

Who is the Ice Cream on The Masked Singer?

The clues: Ice Cream appeared to be a dude with plenty of cash to spare, since he's pictured in a mansion with money and gold coins flying all around. Other clues included saying "Every day is cheat day" and that he believed in his "ridiculous dreams, and I turned my fantasy into a reality, I've got over a billion reasons to be proud." Ice Cream's clue package featured some martial arts-themed imagery as well, including air punches and karate-chops. The most telling clue, though, was when he said he's "used to performing in front of millions" while holding up headphones next to his ears. Is he some kind of famous video game streamer or DJ, maybe? That would line up with the "billion reasons to be proud" line, if it's referencing followers or fans.

Who we thought it might be: Calvin Harris, Marshmellow, Rob Dyrdek, and Pewdiepie were all brought up by the judges, but you can find out Ice Cream's real identity, ahead!

Ice Cream is . . . Ninja!
Fox

After failing to impress the judges while facing off against Ladybug, Nick Cannon had Ice Cream take off his mask. Who was underneath? Mega-successful Twitch streamer Tyler "Ninja" Blevins.

Who is the Flamingo on The Masked Singer?
Fox

Who is the Flamingo on The Masked Singer?

The clues: Flamingo tells the camera that she likes her mascara as much as her mask, so she might have a makeup line out. She also makes a ton of references to YouTube and giving out beauty and fashion advice, as well as feeling "trapped" by her career. The most telling moment is when she says she broke free of her previous career, and is now looking for a rebirth.

Who it might be: Flamingo has performed "Lady Marmalade" and "Sucker," and has a decent voice, which makes us think she might have had a career as a performer of some kind. So far the best guess is Adrienne Baillon Houghton, who we know can sing and dance (Cheetah Girls) and has a YouTube channel where she doles out makeup advice.

Who is the Leopard on The Masked Singer?
Fox

Who is the Leopard on The Masked Singer?

The clues: Leopard speaks with a British accent, which could hint the person underneath the elaborate gown — which the clue package notes was designed to hide the celebrity's body shape — is from the UK. Then again, Leopard also noted that they've been "spotted with the President," though they didn't say if it was the current or former. They added that they used to be a "heavy hitter," and a newspaper headline in the clue package said they were "out of hits and out of time."

Who it might be: Since the Leopard was revealed as a man after having performed Queen's "Somebody to Love," it seems likely it's professional singer Seal. The voice sounds just like him!

Who is the Rottweiler on The Masked Singer?
Fox

Who is the Rottweiler on The Masked Singer?

The clues: At first glance Rottweiler appears to be a football player, since he shows off a fantasy champion ring and mentions that he "touched a pigskin under the Friday night lights." He also makes references to being flashy and well-groomed and mentions that "being a hungry competitor is actually how I rose to fame, it happened almost overnight." Other clues include a bouquet of blue roses and the fact he was bitten by a Rottweiler as a kid.

Who it might be: After Rottweiler gave an incredible performance of "Maneater" by Hall & Oates, the judges guessed Russell Wilson, Brian Littrell, Nick Lachey, JC Chavez, and Bruno Mars. Even though there are plenty of football clues, we're thinking he's not actually an athlete — he might have just played one on TV (likely Friday Night Lights). Fans also seem to think he could be singer Chris Daughtry.

Who is the Butterfly on The Masked Singer?
Fox

Who is the Butterfly on The Masked Singer?

The clues: Butterfly is a female contestant who says she's been waiting for a "metamorphosis" this year and appears to have some sort of connection to London and the UK. (She says she's "terrified of the one place I used to call home" as pictures of Big Ben and London's famed double-decker buses appear onscreen.) Butterfly is also likely religious since she says "I'm here to take you to church, can I get an amen?" and the clue package includes images of stained glass and a cross.

Who it might be: Butterfly's performance reminded us a lot of Destiny's Child alum Michelle Williams, but the judges guessed Cara Delevingne, Fantasia, Mel B, and Diana Ross. The end of Butterfly's song also includes her saying "bless your heart" in a Southern accent, which makes us wonder if the London connection is as strong as it seems.

Who is the Tree on The Masked Singer?
Fox

Who is the Tree on The Masked Singer?

The clues: Tree appears to be a very feminine personality ("I love getting dolled up as your favorite tree, but when the season is over, there's no use for me") who might be a one-hit wonder ("I wish the world wouldn't ignore that I'm more than just one thing that you know me for"). Although we initially thought she could be a former contestant on a singing competition show, her performance on TMS was her first live performance ever. The camera also made sure to focus on the number 30 outside of a storage facility and a black and white TV set in the clue package.

Who it might be: The judges guessed Beverly D'Angelo, Zooey Deschanel, Rachael Ray, and Wendi McLendon-Covey, but Twitter is abuzz with the idea it's Paula Abdul thanks to the beauty mark on the side of Tree's mask.

Who is the Thingamajig on The Masked Singer?
Fox

Who is the Thingamajig on The Masked Singer?

The clues: Thingamajig is pretty freakin' tall, has a special connection to the number four, loves to sing even if "you may think that's not my thing," and says "Don't call me Chewbacca, but we do celebrate together." He also notes that he's "more than fashion shoots and a dream," and that he has "a magic case" full of scarves and feathers.

Who it might be: It seems Thingamajig is an NBA player, which is why the judges guessed Stephen Curry, Dennis Rodman, and Michael Strahan. But what about Victor Oladipo? Not only has he played for the Orlando Magic (which goes with the magic theme), but his birthday is on May 4, aka Star Wars day, which lines up with his mention of celebrating with Chewbacca.

Who is the Ladybug on The Masked Singer?
Fox

Who is the Ladybug on The Masked Singer?

The clues: Ladybug's clues are in a game show setting, and she says "After a lifetime of drama, I can really use a little love and a lot of luck." She makes references to being born into a famous family and that the media has to "keep up" with "every piece of gossip and family feud." There were also images of a turkey leg, a bridge, a stuffed puppy, a gavel, a scorpion, and a police car. She says she's excited to perform without having a "fear of being judged" for her identity.

Who it might be: Once Ladybug belted out "Holding Out For a Hero" by Bonnie Tyler, the judges guessed Lily Collins, Lindsay Lohan, Willow Smith, and Jamie Lynn Spears. Ladybug spoke with a pretty thick Southern accent, but we think that might be a ruse since her mention of "keeping up" could be a nod to the Kardashians.

Who is the Fox on The Masked Singer?
Fox

Who is the Fox on The Masked Singer?

The clues: The "underestimated" Fox has a clue package that teases a heroic real-life identity, since he says "This superhero is ready to devour the competition." Is he an actor in a superhero movie or TV show? His silver nose ring is emblazoned with an "X," so he could be a member of the X-Men franchise. Nick Cannon also highlights Fox's "signature glowing eye," which might hint at which superhero character he plays.

Who it might be: This is a tough one! So far some have speculated he's a member of the MCU like Jeremy Renner (who has a music career in the works).

Who is the Flower on The Masked Singer?
Fox

Who is the Flower on The Masked Singer?

The clues: According to Flower, she "blossoms" in "every field I plant myself in, and I am here to branch out yet again." So, that means she must be a jack of all trades. She added that she's going to "put my petals to the metals and make the other singers wilt."

Who it might be: The "petal to the metal" line in particular has fans wondering if it's Danica Patrick, or another NASCAR driver. But a different (if slightly more obvious) idea is The Big Bang Theory's Mayim Bialik. She got her start on the sitcom Blossom, she works in multiple fields, and she has pipes.
