Charlie Puth is showing off a totally new sense of style alongside his first release of 2020, "Girlfriend." In the music video, Puth largely sticks to printed button-down shirts, and he shared a personal BTS shot from "set," aka his home, on his Instagram feed. This look is complete with Adidas sport socks, gym shorts, and brogues. It looks like the outfit I quickly throw on to meet the delivery guy downstairs, albeit more polished on Charlie. His mahogany croc loafers are also decidedly more luxe than any pairs that I own.

But from a fashion perspective, my summer has clearly looked just like Puth's — I, too, have been trying to collect as many printed button-down bowling shirts as possible, shopping the likes of Holiday the Label, Tombolo, and Duvin for fun splashes of color to brighten my mood. "The video for 'Girlfriend' is the first time I've truly been myself in every aspect," Charlie said of the project, and we're assuming he's also referencing his quirky, mixed-bag wardrobe here.

In my opinion, Charlie's new aesthetic is a delicious blend of Harry Styles and John B from Outer Banks. In fact, if I was to recreate this very look — and I promise you it will happen on all Friday nights in the foreseeable future — I've gathered the pieces I'd reach for ahead. Though, let's be clear, I am in no way trying to start an outfit competition with Charlie Puth.
