When putting together her cookbook, Candice focused on healthy recipes that will make the body feel good — especially after a period of not-so-great eating. Instead of a detox, Candice suggests a reset, to "undo damage from a period of indulgent eating, retrain taste buds and give the body a fresh start." Dark Chocolate Coconut Smoothie Bowl

Ingredients

  1. 1 1⁄2 frozen bananas (or 1 whole avocado)
    1⁄4 cup whole natural almonds
    3⁄4 cup kale, stems removed, chopped
    3 tablespoons unsweetened Dutch (dark) cocoa powder
    1⁄4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
    3/4 cup unsweetened almond milk
    1 scoop pea protein powder (optional)
    1/2 teaspoon spirulina powder (optional)
  1. Optional Toppings:
    Whole almonds
    Sliced almonds
    Fresh mint
    Coconut pieces
    Sliced banana
    Almond butter

Directions

  1. Combine all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth
  2. Serve and divide the smoothie mix immediately into two serving bowls and top with your choice of toppings. Enjoy!
