Matcha Smoothie
The Caffeinated, Low-Calorie Smoothie That's Better Than Your Green Tea Latte
It doesn't get easier than blending up a smoothie, but the wrong combination of ingredients can leave you with a breakfast that's too sweet, too chalky, too thin, too (insert your smoothie problem here). In the Spring and Summer, I start craving a flavorful, refreshing, and frothy smoothie, and this vanilla matcha smoothie became my go-to warm-weather blend. After an early run in my neighborhood, I hop in the shower, mix up this two-minute breakfast, and sip as I catch up on email and get ready for work. I don't even have to worry about brewing up a cup of coffee since antioxidant-rich matcha green tea is tossed into the blender, offering the energizing boost I need to start my day.

Notes
We've found that richer milks tend to pair better with matcha; light coconut milk (canned), full-fat dairy, and soy work nicely.

5 ice cubes
1/4 avocado
1 scoop vanilla protein powder
