The Vegan Burger That Seriously Has Me Considering Going Plant-Based

When it comes to food, I really don't have any restrictions. I'll try everything at least once, but I prefer to eat things that are fresh, taste good, and will help me live until I'm 107 years old. Over the past year, I've made it a goal to incorporate more mindful eating and eco-friendly methods into my daily routine. I try to not eat while creating workout programs for my clients. I've also tried to lessen my impact on the environment by reducing my plastic waste and carbon footprint by composting.

Last Summer, I found myself strolling through the aisles of Whole Foods (like most trainers do) when I came across the Beyond Meat plant-based burger patties. I was intrigued and somewhat suspicious. I've dabbled in the plant-based world (thanks to all the Instagram posts featuring NYC plant-based restaurants), but I'd never seen a burger like this. These patties looked just like the beef patties right next to them! So, I did what most curious, health-conscious people would do. I bought them to conduct my very own experiment. Would I enjoy these patties as much or more than traditional beef?

I decided to make a classic cheeseburger and I was not disappointed at all. These patties are so similar to their beef counterparts (they get their coloring from beets) that I kept forgetting that I wasn't touching raw meat and didn't need to wash my hands after handling them. As for taste — the best non-meat burger I've had and no, I'm not being paid to say that.

I'm a girl who loves a juicy beef burger, and I'm hard to please when it comes to meat alternatives. I've had too many meatless burgers that taste and look like rubber. These burgers have become a staple in my kitchen, and I tend to keep a pack on hand for the days when I want to throw together a simple and quick meal!

Whether you're a flexitarian, eating less meat to save the earth, or just want to try something new, I highly recommend checking out these burgers (you'll thank me later!).
