The Simple Way Hillary Clinton Supporters Are Protesting Donald Trump After the Election

As the nation continues to process the conclusion of the presidential race, Hillary Clinton supporters are channeling their frustration and disappointment in a practical way that speaks to their chosen candidate's advocacy of reproductive rights. On the private Pantsuit Nation Facebook group, a member of the group shared she would be donating to Planned Parenthood following Donald Trump's shocking win. Many have since followed suit.

In the post, the member — whose name has been left out to respect her privacy — said she made a monthly donation to Planned Parenthood in honor of Donald Trump. "When they go low, we go high," she wrote, echoing Michelle Obama's now famous quote, which has since been frequently cited by Hillary Clinton.

The powerful form of protest is partly due to Trump's repudiation of Planned Parenthood. At the GOP debate on Feb. 25, Trump said, "You can say whatever you want, but they have millions of women going through Planned Parenthood that are helped greatly." Adding: "And I wouldn't fund it."
