Molly Sims really loves talking about skin care — and with all the years she's spent working across sets and experimenting with just about every beauty trick in the book (some with more consequences than others), she's also uniquely qualified to speak on the subject. Her love for all things beauty is what inspired her to launch her own lifestyle podcast, "Lipstick on the Rim," which covers everything from new skin-care trends to procedures — and has quickly become a cult-favorite among beauty influencers and celebrities alike. It's also what empowered her to pour her years of skin-care lessons and insights into her own brand, YSE Beauty (pronounced "wise," which pays homage to the label's ethos).

YSE isn't designed to fit the mold of today's typical celebrity beauty brand — which is probably why it has managed to garner such a dedicated base of shoppers who, like Sims, feel inspired to reclaim their skin after years of feeling hostage to it.

"My skin struggles really started after I had my first baby in 2012. And if you have hyperpigmentation or discoloration, you know that it's not just one fix or [saying], 'Oh, I'm done. Oh, we were good.' It's always a problem, so it comes down to how you tame it," Sims says. For her, YSE aims to be a solution for taming skin-care concerns on a wide spectrum, whether it be discoloration or a lack of hydration. As she puts it: "I knew that I didn't want this to be like an influencer brand or a private label. I get to try so many incredible products and I work with so many incredible people — and I really wanted this to be at that same level."

YSE Beauty features your usual menu of products like retinol serums, cleansers, and brightening primers, among many other thoughtfully created formulas. But unlike other mainstream beauty brands — namely the ones pandering to the Gen Z crowd — Sims's YSE Beauty is rooted in a belief that experience and time are really the greatest teachers when it comes to figuring out what works (and perhaps more importantly, what doesn't work) for your skin.

"I got all of my education living in Europe, living in Paris, getting to go to great dermatologists, getting to go work with great makeup artists and estheticians — so I got that breadth of knowledge firsthand," says Sims. "I have had a lot of trial and error. But I feel at a really good place with this line. I feel that it is a routine that works, that is efficacious, that is beautiful, and doesn't take itself so seriously."

We had the opportunity to chat with Sims about her ever-evolving skin-care journey, the process of launching her own brand, and all of the products she can't live without — including a bevy of beauty essentials like a percussive skin-care device and a stylish cosmetics case.

Phone-charger theft is an all too common occurrence in Sims's household, which is precisely why she likes to keep this iWALK Portable Charger ($40, originally $50) on hand at all times. "I cannot begin to describe how many times my kids and husband steal my chargers around the house, making it impossible to charge my phone," Sims says. "I keep this specific charger in my purse (it's also labeled — pro tip!) and use this literally daily because I am always on my phone for work or coordinating the kid's schedules."

Pro Tip: These portable charging banks are available to shop in a wide variety of colors and styles. Plus, you can even purchase a charging station that will charge multiple banks at the same time. Read more about the handy essential in our review of the iWalk Portable Charger.

For an attainable glow that Sims can maintain year-round, she loves turning to her trusty YSE Beauty Skin Glow SPF 30 Sunscreen Primer ($48), even going so far as to say that she "doesn't leave the house" without it. "It is protective, hydrating, and above all gives me that soft-focus, healthy glow on my skin. It's everything you could ever need in a face product," Sims says.

Pro Tip: Per the brand, it's recommended that you apply a generous amount of this formula to your face and neck, and use it as the last step in your skin-care routine. The solution can be worn solo for a glowy look, or it can be used as a primer underneath makeup.

While Sims has tested her fair share of beauty products over the years, few have blown her away like the TheraFace PRO Percussive Skin Care Device ($399). "This facial device is an all-in-one [tool] that will help reduce wrinkles, boost circulation in your skin, while also reducing facial tension. It's a must-have if you are wanting radiant, glowing skin," Sims says.

Pro Tip: This percussive tool can be used to relax facial muscles, as well as relieve any lingering tensions. It's available to shop in two bundles, including the TheraFace Pro package, which comes with a set of hot and cold rings, or a larger bundle that includes six separate facial treatments.

Sims says that she "swears by magnesium" for a variety of health benefits, but especially for better sleep — and calls this Moon Juice Magnesi-Om ($8) a nighttime essential. "Every night — about 30 minutes before I go to bed — I stir in one teaspoon of this powder into my water. Not only is it delicious tasting, but it helps calm and relax me so I can get a good night's sleep," Sims says.

Pro Tip: Per the brand, this pink drink is infused with ingredients that help to improve brain function, reduce muscle aches, and calm the body. Simply sprinkle a teaspoon of the powder into a glass of water, stir, sit back, and enjoy.

Even on her biggest jet-setting adventures, Sims calls this Béis On The Go Essential Case ($48) her "favorite travel companion." She explains: "I take so many beauty products with me when I travel, and this can literally hold everything. It is so spacious, and I love the multiple compartments it has. Best part: you can actually see all your items instead digging around in your bag endlessly."

Pro Tip: If you want to purchase the complete set, you can also buy matching products like the Béis Cosmetic Case and the Béis Dopp Kit.
