One of the best things about going backstage at New York Fashion Week season after season is watching which products the makeup artists and hairstylists use to create their masterpieces. Many times, they are lipsticks, shadows, and liners that haven't even hit the shelves yet — which piques our interest even more. Plus, since we get a sneak peek at the latest and greatest in the hands of the pros, we also get to see exactly how they use it — not only making us want to add those products to our shopping carts immediately, but also actually giving us a great reason why.

Here are the hottest new products launching this year that were used for the Fall 2016 Fashion Week shows, so you can create your very own shopping list — plus, how each one was used on the runway.

Jason Wu Fall 2016 New York Fashion Week

At Jason Wu's Fall 2016 show, Maybelline's key makeup artist Yadim created a look that was a bit more "street" than that of the typical Wu girl, or as Yadim defined it, "beauty disrupted." The lashes were the focus of the look, and they were spidery with a vinyl sheen to them. A gloss was applied right before the girls hit the runway.

To get the look, Yadim used Maybelline's upcoming launch, The Colossal Spider Effect Mascara (out June 2016). He applied this mascara heavily the tips to get the Twiggy effect — but remember clumpy lashes were the point of this look!

At Creatures of Comfort's Fall 2016 show, Korea's most talked-about nail artist Unistella teamed up with Glow Recipe to launch nail foil stickers — and, of course, used them to create the look for the show as well. For the look, she placed the strips in various directions and juxtaposed them with black dots of polish.

The Lift & Plump Sheet Mask (available in April; set of four for $120 at Lancerskincare.com) instantly infuses the skin with moisture and plumpness. Don't forget to leave the extra residue on the skin once you remove the mask, and massage it into your face for extra hydration.

Also backstage at Creatures of Comfort, Dick Page was spotted using Shiseido's brand-new Rouge Rouge lipstick line — coming in Fall 2016. For the romantic look, he chose Sweet Desire to apply all over the lips and then tapped Rum Punch right into the middle of the pout to add extra dimension.

We also spotted newbies from Davines at Creatures of Comfort. Lead stylist Joseph DiMaggio relied on products from the Your Hair Assistant line to get that effortless "cool-girl hair." He finished off each look with the Volume Creator, a texturizing powder that can be dispersed with a soft blush brush.

At Cushnie et Ochs, key makeup artist Val Garland for MAC Cosmetics created a gorgeous, bold, almost "red carpet-ready look" inspired by Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy. To create the cheek contour and highlight, Garland used a brand-new multipurpose product from MAC, which will launch this April.

At Tibi's Fall 2016 show, manicurist Jin Soon Choi painted military insignia-inspired nail art on just the pointer fingers of each hand. The look (created with a striper brush) incorporated her new holiday polish, a muted gold shade called Cachet.

The new polish, Cachet, (which will be out with her upcoming holiday collection) is the perfect sheer gold for the girl who is a bit shy of a bold metallic.

Monique Lhuillier Fall 2016 New York Fashion Week

For Monique Lhuillier's Fall 2016 show, Diane Kendal for MAC Cosmetics wanted to create a natural flush on the lips, so she actually exfoliated them right before applying a lip balm, noting that if you're simply wanting your lips to look naturally pink, that's the best way to do it.

Kendal used a brand-new Lip Scrub from MAC, which will hit stores in the coming months. The classic vanilla fragrance smells absolutely divine, and Kendal kept passing it around backstage for sniff tests.

At Derek Lam's Fall 2016 show, Maybelline's key makeup artist Tom Pecheux used a contour stick to really define the model's cheekbones, and trust us when we say you'll want this product.

The new Master Contour V-Shape Contouring Stick (out in June 2016) is shaped in such a way that you can simply swipe it along your cheekbone with the dark side and then blend. Add a touch of the lighter shade by simply turning the stick over and applying it in the same direction.

Rebecca Minkoff Spring 2016 New York Fashion Week Show

Makeup artists haven't been able to stop raving about the latest Kevyn Aucoin foundation backstage at various shows during Fashion Week, and we saw it in use at Rebecca Minkoff's Spring 2016 (#SeeBuyWear!) show. The product gives everyone a luminous look with a semimatte finish, and it has buildable coverage.

Jill Stuart Fall 2016 New York Fashion Week

For Jill Stuart's Fall 2016 fashion show, the designer wanted a "retro stone" feel to the nails. Lead artist Naomi used Zoya's Edyta polish as the chosen shade.

Since choosing a nail look is always such a tough choice, Stuart teamed up with Zoya and created a trio of polishes (the three that she was choosing between for the show), which include Edyta (pictured), Ziv, and Remy, and are all for sale now on Zoya.com ($30).

3.1 Phillip Lim Fall 2016 New York Fashion Week

At 3.1 Phillip Lim's Fall 2016 show, Francelle Daly for NARS Cosmetics created a gorgeous statement liner for the look. She couldn't stop raving to us about an upcoming eyebrow product from NARS, which she used to fill in the brows on each girl.

The product, which will be out for Fall 2016, comes in four shades (in pods, pictured here) and is called NARS Brow Defining Cream. According to Daly, the cream acts almost like a brow powder but is easier to use, and you can literally apply it and then simply comb through it for your desired look.

Rag & Bone Fall 2016 Fashion Week

At Rag & Bone's Fall 2016 show, Gucci Westman was working to highlight the model's fresh, natural faces — but in the brutal weather New York was having this season, skin care was key. Luckily, she had some great products from SK-II by her side.

SK-II R.N.A. Power Cream

Gucci first used the classic SK-II essence on the skin but then massaged the brand new R.N.A. Power Cream (which is super hydrating, and out this month!) into the skin to really hydrate so that any foundation or concealer that was applied would simply melt into the skin, instead of sitting on top.

Vera Wang Fall 2016 New York Fashion Week

The fresh, ethereal look at Vera Wang's show, created by Lucia Pieroni with Cle de Peau, was all about the soft pink cheeks and lips contrased with a muted blue on the eyes – a new cream shade coming out this Fall from the brand.

But, what caught our attention was the latest release from the brand (launching on Sephora.com on Feb. 19!), the Tidal Brightening Enzyme Water Cream ($65). The new cream has two forms of hyaluronic acid, plus papaya enzymes to smooth and exfoliate.
