5 New Maybelline Makeup Products Every Drugstore-Lover Needs in 2017

As we celebrate the best beauty launches of 2016, we also look ahead to see what's launching for 2017!

Beauty editors get early access to this type of top-secret information, and today we are going to share some of it with you. We got the scoop on the new Maybelline launches for January and are excited to reveal five of what we predict to be the buzziest drugstore launches. This curation includes Baby Lips crayons (!!!), a gorgeous new mascara, and more.

The cherry on top is that none of them are more than $16!

Maybelline Baby Lips Color Balm Crayon, $7

Maybelline celebrity makeup artist Grace Lee uses the original Baby Lips balms in a plethora of ways, including as a cuticle salve and as a mixing base. But you won't want to use these new highly pigmented Baby Lips Color Balm Crayons anywhere but your face.

Try them as a bold lipstick or a glossy cheek flush. The formula features more saturated color than the other Baby Lips tinted balms, but they still feel light on the lips. There are eight shades: Toasted Taupe, Blush Burst, Strawberry Pop, Creamy Coral, Refreshing Red, Sassy Scarlett, Pink Smooch, and Playful Purple.

Maybelline The Colossal Big Shot, $9

Lee said many of her celebrity clients credit Maybelline as being their gateway into mascara, and we bet that's true for many of you, too. The latest iteration, Colossal Big Shot, has a brand-new brush and formula.

According to Lee, it has the ability to roll through lashes and enough bristles to grab every hair. It comes out of the pump with a more mousse-like than superwet formula. And it's made with collagen, which keeps it from flaking and clumping. Expect tons of volume from thus little guy!

Maybelline FaceStudio Master Strobing Liquid Illuminating Highlighter, $10

A little goes a long way when it comes to the FaceStudio Master Strobing Liquid Illuminating Highlighters. The pearly formula is offered in three shades that include iridescent, champagne, and gold.

Lee suggests using it to spotlight. I loved the way it highlighted my cheekbones and eyebrow arches. It definitely pops in photos (read: apply it before your next Instagram selfie). But avoid using it on your entire face or you may be a bit too shiny.

But Lee also offered the tip that you can mix it with a body lotion to get an all-over glow. I plan to try this for my next out-of-town wedding, since it means I won't need to pack a second body luminizer.

Maybelline Dream Cushion, $16

Maybelline Dream Cushion, $16

One of the biggest gripes Maybelline heard when it came to cushion foundation was that existing formulas were too sheer. So the team set out to develop a full-coverage product that still offered a luminous finish. And after testing it out, I can confirm this description is accurate.

I personally love using cushion compacts when I travel (since they do not leak!) and midday for a touch-up. Lee also offered a great tip: you can dip your Beautyblender into the compact and about four taps of color will blend out to be the perfect finish.

The eight-shade range offers coverage for a multitude of skin tones.

Maybelline Face Studio Master Camo Color Correcting Kit, $13

Maybelline Face Studio Master Camo Color Correcting Kit, $13

While color correcting is a bit confusing, once you learn how to do it (we break that down here), it will change your life. The makeup artist technique is one of the easiest ways to cover redness, acne, and dullness.

Maybelline's new Face Studio Master Camo Color Correcting Kit offers five color-correcting concealers for way less money than most similar palettes out there. And it's available in three shade iterations for all skin tones. But what makes it such a standout set is that the bottom right "sixth" color in each kit is actually a pearly highlighter. So once you conceal, you can illuminate — all on the go.
