Here's an unfortunate truth: there is not one beauty product on this planet that will make you look more like Jessica Alba. (Unless scientists have cracked the code on cloning the whole genetic jackpot thing and forgot to tell us.) Still, you can feel as good as she does about what you put on your skin and hair — that's why she created Honest Beauty.

Launched in 2015 under the Honest Company umbrella, Alba's beauty line includes a bevvy of clean makeup, hair, and skincare products formulated sans parabens, mineral oil, or synthetic fragrances. But are they worth the hype (and $200 million valuation)? In a quest to find out — and, OK, attempt to bear even an inkling of resemblance to Alba circa 2003's Honey — I road tested every Honest Beauty item in our beauty closet. Check out the ones worthy of a happy dance, ahead.

Honest Beauty Magic Beauty Balm Facial Moisturizer

Nobody loves a multipurpose product more than me (what can I say? "Lazy" is my middle name), and, on a normal day, you could probably find me putting Aquaphor's Healing Ointment on everything. A surprisingly impressive alternative: Honest Beauty Magic Beauty Balm Facial Moisturizer ($13), which worked wonders on my cuticles, lips, elbows, and even my flyaways.

Honest Beauty Sulfate Free Magic Gel-to-Milk Cleanser

Honest Beauty Sulfate Free Magic Gel-to-Milk Cleanser

I've tried hundreds of facial cleansers in my day, which means I can pretty easily discern between the worthy and the not-so-much. This Honest Beauty Sulfate Free Magic Gel-to-Milk Cleanser ($14) was surprisingly gentle on my overreactive skin and washed away the day's worth of dirt and oil without the help of any suds. One thing to note is that the jelly formula does transform into a milky white liquid when it comes in contact with water, but for me, that made it all the more fun to use.

Honest Beauty No Fuss Hair

Honest Beauty No Fuss Hair

My fine hair is like the worst character in every rom-com — it's delicate, breaks easily, and requires constant TLC, but do too much to it and it'll have a fit. Luckily, the Honest Beauty No Fuss Hair ($15) strikes the right balance; the Beyond Hydrated Moisture Milk Leave-In Conditioner manages to hydrate my damaged ends without feeling too heavy, while the Honestly Effortless Sea Salt Spray gives it some much-needed texture. A win-win.

Honest Beauty Makeup Remover Wipes

I'm persnickety about my face wipes, mostly because I've found more than half of the options on the market too irritating (thanks a lot, sensitive skin) but not the Honest Beauty Makeup Remover Wipes ($7). These cloths are super soft, removed every trace of makeup, and left behind a clean, crisp smell on my skin. I'd still recommend you keep them away from your eyes (I noticed a little stinging), but everywhere else is free game.

Honest Beauty Demi Matte Lip Crayon in Strawberry

Honest Beauty Demi Matte Lip Crayon in Strawberry

Is there anything more nostalgic than a chubby lip crayon? (Answer: no.) One of my favorites to date is the Honest Beauty Demi Matte Lip Crayon in Strawberry ($13) — a matte-meets-shiny formula that glides on smooth and leaves behind the prettiest hint of blood-red color.

Honest Beauty 3-in-1 Detox Mud Mask Facial Treatment

Honest Beauty 3-in-1 Detox Mud Mask Facial Treatment

I've been having a bit of a pore problem, so the Honest Beauty 3-in-1 Detox Mud Mask Facial Treatment ($20) was a welcome addition to my Sunday skincare routine. It's loaded with volcanic ash to dislodge any gunk that's been chillin' around my nose, as well as manuka honey and shea butter to soothe and hydrate.

Honest Beauty Paraben Free Honestly Pure Retinol (R) Serum

Honest Beauty Paraben Free Honestly Pure Retinol (R) Serum

Any dermatologist will tell you: the secret to glowing, younger-looking skin is retinol, so it's been a staple in my product stash for years. One thing I loved about the Honest Beauty Paraben Free Honestly Pure Retinol (R) Serum ($28) is that it wasn't as drying or irritating as some of the more potent formulas out there — you can thank the hyaluronic acid for that — but still worked wonders on my dark spots.
